Has all of the essentials.

I originally had the Vivoactive 3, which I liked. I use it primarily to sync with my outdoor and indoor bike riding to include strength training and yoga. Oddly, I like the many selections for the actual face of the watch. I also like that it syncs with my IPhone and Garmin Connecs. I preferred to go with Fenix series, but they were too pricey. In fact, I waited for this one to go on sale. Overall, a solid watch for what I need.

Not 100% accurate but what is

I will say I love this watch and all its features. It does take about a day to getb used to with understanding all the features. The only thing I don't like is its not 100% accurate but what really is this day and age. That's the only thing I don't like but its about a 1/4 mile off when doing 2 miles from what I have noticed. It doesn't bother me to much as I more keep this for health instead of training.

My entry into smart watches

Purchased a month ago and still figuring out how to use all the features. Enjoy connecting to my phone's services. Find it keeps me inspired to keep moving. The data for sleep has helped me take my sleep health seriously. I look forward to figuring out more.

great apps low quality

As a novice looking for a versatile smartwatch to support training, I chose the Garmin Vivoactive 5, largely due to the range of apps available. The variety of training features makes it accessible and adaptable for beginners, with plenty of options to support different fitness goals. However, the device's overall quality is not up to Garmin’s usual standards. The materials used for the Vivoactive 5 feel disappointingly cheap. The casing has a thin plastic feel, and the buttons don’t inspire confidence—they feel flimsy and give the impression they might not last. Given Garmin’s strong reputation for durability and high-quality builds, it’s surprising to see this apparent compromise on materials and construction. It's disappointing to see a respected brand like Garmin potentially sacrificing quality to appeal to a wider market. While the Vivoactive 5 has solid training features, the lack of durability may be a concern for those seeking a lasting investment.

Used throughout the Day

My third Vivoactive watch. I depend on it to track my sleep quality and activity as well as alerting me to text messages and calls on my iphone. I would have rated it excellent, but I am a bit disappointed in the support for the watch. I can't seem to find out how to change the weather reading from Celsius to Farenheit.

Thanks for your review! You can change the unit of measure for temperature on your vivoactive 5 by following these steps: 1. Swipe up or down to view the weather glance. 2. Select the glance to view the current weather for your location. 3. Hold the bottom-right button. 4. Select Weather Options. 5. To change the unit of measure for temperature, select Temperature. Not for me

I had very high hopes but this is not for me. Limited number of activities. Hiking, rucking are not included & not able to be downloaded. Some days pedometer did not activate. One day I did a very challenging highly very vertical 3 mile hike and the watch messaged me I had a relaxing day and needed to move more (even though my heart rate was over 130 at times on the hike).I am returning it.

Love the display

I bought the VivoActive 5 about a month ago after wearing a VivoActive 3 for several years. The brighter, sharper display is amazing. I also like the much longer battery life. I don’t use for cycling since I have a Garmin bike computer. I will use for kayaking but the local lakes have about a foot of ice at the moment. For us northerners, it would be nice to have a snow shoveling activity but I suppose I could use hike. I use the “Glance” watch face which shows all the numbers I am interested in.

Love this smartwatch

I am a die hard Apple product person. Full stop. I had an Apple Watch and it was…fine. This garmin? AMAAAAAZING. I absolutely love the fact that I am not having to charge it every day. I love that it tracks my health stuff and still gives me my text previews. My favorite feature though is that I can use a regular quick release watch band vs having to buy a special one if I ever want to change it up.

An Unobtrusive Physical Trainer

My wife bought the Garmin-vivioactive 5 watch for Christmas. I like the multiple health tracking features. I also use My Net Diary calorie counter, and the two integrate seamlessly. The battery charge is long lasting, and charges quickly. I can have 100% charge in the time that it takes me to complete my morning devotional. Like a personal trainer, the watch pushes me to better my steps each day. I have lost the six pounds gained during holiday food frolicking. The sleep tracker is impressive, and gives me pointers how to get better rest. This smart watch is solid and informative.

It does everything I need and more

I had a Vivo move hr for several years and it wouldn't hold a charge for more than 1 day. I had been researching other Garmin Vivoactive watches and decided on this model. I'm a senior, so it took some trial and error before I got it set up. Really appreciate how much more information I have compared to the old watch. Also all the bands from the other watch fit this one, so a definite win. I'm sure there are many other functions that I am not using, but happy with what I am currently have. Also, the online user manual was very helpful for setting up the watch.
