Good looking...
We are happy with the Gazebo! My husband and I are both over 60 and we were able to construct the gazebo ourselves, needing only one other person to help elevate the ends. There is an instruction book included, which we found more helpful than the app. Always check with your delivery service to make sure you are scheduled.

A few things worth knowing
My sister ordered this Gazebo and paid for it to be assembled. The guy did not show up and she was rescheduled a month later. I decided to put it together for her before summer was half over, but read every review beforehand. Even the guy at Sams that helped load it in the trailer said it was a difficult build. This project took 14 hours and two people. The more you read before starting the better things will go. If I HAD to build another one, I think I could trim the time down by 4-5 hours. The first thing I noticed when opening the boxes, this gazebo appears to have been packaged before the stain had time to dry. This causes parts to stick together and when they are pulled apart, stain is missing in spots. As noted in other reviews, the hardware that comes with this kit is junk. I opened box 1, took out all the hardware and ran it through a tap before ever starting the project. I also had to do this to a small number of the barrels (nuts). If you dont own a tap, buy one (you only need one size 5/16ยจ) before beginning or you will likely not be able to finish this project without buying/requesting more hardware. I would easily say that at least 50% of the bolts would have never worked without the tap. There is too much paint on the threads and it binds up. Furthermore, at no point in the directions does it ever to stop and square/level/plumb everything up. With two guys, its basically impossible. If you dont have five people and time to waste, go to the lumber yard, and buy 2-10ยด, 6-12ยด, 2-14ยด boards. I personally bought 1x6ล and ripped them to save $$. It still cost me $46.11. Use those to brace everything up so when you tighten the bolts, the kit will stay square/level/plumb. Once it was free standing (around step 3), it was time to brace it up. That is my first picture. When finished, the gazebo is very nice looking, solid feeling, and a backyard upgrade.

Awesome Gazebo!
After seeing the other reviews about difficult assembly, I paid the extra $500 for delivery and assembly. It took the 2 man crew 3 1/2 hours to put it together and although tyhey had lots of experience, they didn't have any difficulty with screws stripping or holes that didn't line up. The assembly crew was prompt, I bought the gazebo at the end of February and was expecting them to schedule it for later in the Spring but they were there within 2 weeks. So quick that they beat the paver installers. I saw another review about someone being disappointed about the quality of the materials. This is a $1499 gazebo, not a $5000 gazebo. This is an awesome gazebo for the price! I'll be applying a sealer when the weather warms up to protect it but overall, I am extremely happy with it. After the floor and fire pit is complete this will be everything I hoped for!
Thank you for the 5 star review that we strive for. You chose one of our very popular gazebos and we wish you years of memories with your family using the Brookdale Gazebo.
Wonderful Product and Customer Service
I just finished the assembly of the Backyard Discovery Brookdale Gazebo and couldn't be more pleased! Early in the assembly I didn't open all the boxes first (as recommended) and thought I was missing some hardware. I called the 800 number and a live person answered and shipped the missing hardware overnight. To my embarrassment I found the hardware in the second last box I opened. I put footings in the ground below frost line with a post hole digger and 2x6 wood forms (for actual dimension 6x6) to the elevation of the adjacent pool. I also added 5" half-round gutters and a drip edge as the provided drip edge is ornamental only (since it's installed on top of the metal roof). I also added a ceiling fan and intend to add a wood burning fireplace to the rear, along with infill panels adjacent to hide the pool pump and filter. My assembly took several days' (usually by myself) but everything assembled exactly as intended, And I had no issues with the hardware at all...everything lined up perfectly! And the predrilled holes were perfect! The small torx bits they provide don't stay in the 12v drill motor as intended so I used small torx bits I already owned. I think T27. And don't pay to have it built. It's enjoyable. But you must start with a level and square base! And don't try to assemble the roof metal on the ground and lift the assembly. Build the wood frame and add the metal once the frame is installed on the structure. Two ladders (one insside and one outside, or keep moving the ladder as I did) and you can reach all the screw locations.
You shared some great adivice and I'm glad you found assembling the Brookdale enjoyable.
A Great Backyard Addition.
I'm giving this project a 4.9. Overall, an excellent package. My critique would be that some of the pieces were reduced in length requiring them to be spliced which I think reduces the overall quality just a tick. Done that way for shipping purposes, no doubt. Were it not for that, I would have given it a solid 5. That said, it was designed so that extra strength was built in to the joints with hardware to compensate. The hardware package was a 5 . All item packages were part numbered for easy IDing and there were extras of almost all items. Assembly was easy as long as you carefully followed the instructions. Both paper and online instructions are available making that part easy. I mainly used the paper version. Just my preference. One caution, get plenty of help when installing the roof sections. I did it with two of us and it was about all we could manage. Three or four people would have made it much easier. We elected to stain the wood prior to assembly and I'm glad we did. It was much easier. Make sure your floor, piers, whatever, are plumb and square and this project will go up with minimal issues. I can easily recommend it.
We aim for 100%, 5-star satisfaction and apologize that your experience was less than perfect. Not to worry as your gazebo comes with a warranty and we will work with you to get any damaged parts sent out your way. I would encourage you to contact our customer advocate at 800-856-4445 8 am -6 pm CST 7 days a week.
Quality cedar looks fantastic!
We bought this last week, so this is an early review which I can update after it lives outside for a bit. After reading the reviews and seeing the cedar, we decided to clear seal/protect all the wood in the kit. ALL is a lot of wood!! I did this task and painted each side of every piece of cedar two times. It took a gallon of sealant and about 6 hours! I wish this came pre treated!! If you donโt do this your cedar will grey in weeks, there is nothing pre done to the wood. For the price you spend on this we thought it worth our investment to make it last! My husband then did all the building, solo. Heโs very handy so I wasnโt worried. The bolts are annoying, he needed a can of wd40 on hand to grease them up as they are all painted and the threads were tight from the paint. He wished he could have just used his own nail gun and screws and would have been faster, but he got it done! You need to take your time and love on those Darn factory screws. He did have a large post that the holes were mid aligned, and had to โfix thisโ so watch out itโs not always perfect. I however did give this 4 stars. Why? It does need the prep work of you want it to last and the screws can make you go crazy! But the cedar is not fake, the decorative hardware is lovely and once built it looks so fantastic! Iโll update as it weathers but I just love it!!

Brookdale Gazebo
I have not yet installed the unit, but it appears to be a quality product. The packages (5) total around 900# or 180# each. For a DIYer, I always look for the instruction manual prior to buying to insure I do not have difficulty in assembly. With this unit, Sam's (Store I bought it from) only provides a cell phone app which is completely useless. Went in circles to find the manual. Finally got it by accidently opening box 1 of 5 which had a nameplate. Calling Backyard Discovery (nameplate in the kit) at (800) 856-4445 to get it emailed to me.

Difficult to assemble
Had to use a tap and die to chase all the threads on the bolts and barrel nuts. Pre-drilled holes do not line up. Had to drill them out. This is the worst thing I have ever assembled. For this much money, you would expect better quality. Really had to fight it to get it assembled!
We are sorry to hear that you did not have a good experience with our product please call us at 800-846-4445
To the person wanting to locate the instructions-itโs in the box labeled 1 of 5. You have to remove all the contents in the box or call 800-856-4445 and they can email it to you. Put it on PDF (there are 44 pages). Then you just refer to the pages that shows the build or you can print which pages you want. It is beautiful. The electrical outlet is so handy.
