DO NOT BUY THIS GAZEBO!!
We always bought the metal gazebo's with canvas canopies but wanted to buy something that would not need to be taken down in the fall and put back up in the spring! This was NOT the gazebo to buy! It is so poorly engineered, NOTHING lines up properly, screws are stripped, roof panels did not fit properly! The wood is sturdy, but extremely heavy and awkward to assemble. With all of the openings, this will not keep the rain off of our furniture as well as the canvas gazebo! So sorry we made this purchase!!!

Worth every dollar
We received the gazebo promptly. My husband and two friends put it together. It took 10-12 hours of work. There were a few not so nice words said during those hours. The major advice I have is to read the directions fully before you start. As the wife's sat back and watched there was much laughing going on watching this interesting process take place. I will highly recommend this product and this is the reason why. We just experienced Hurricane Laura. I am sitting outside with no electricity and I have a smile on my face because this gazebo withstood 100-140 winds. Not even one screw came loose.

Brookdale Gazebo
I have not yet installed the unit, but it appears to be a quality product. The packages (5) total around 900# or 180# each. For a DIYer, I always look for the instruction manual prior to buying to insure I do not have difficulty in assembly. With this unit, Sam's (Store I bought it from) only provides a cell phone app which is completely useless. Went in circles to find the manual. Finally got it by accidently opening box 1 of 5 which had a nameplate. Calling Backyard Discovery (nameplate in the kit) at (800) 856-4445 to get it emailed to me.

Be prepared...
Wife saw it standing tall in the store and absolutely HAD to have it. For pick up bring your strongest friend and your friends strongest friend. The boxes are super heavy and even with the help of the employees it was a HUGE PAIN to load. The Build: One of the most aggravating, pain in the butt weekends I’ve ever had. 1 out of every 3 screws they give you is stripped, all the bolts are boogerd and the pre drilled holes don’t really line up. All in all it took me and 2 friends about 15 hours to build. NOT A ONE MAN JOB. However all that being said it looks good when it’s done and my wife loves it. I guess that’s all that really matters. P.S under no circumstances should you allow your wife to try and “help”. It’ll lead to frustration. Good luck.

12×10 Gazebo
We bought this a month ago and the pavilion is a A+ product. I have added some constructive ideas on both gable sides to keep out the rain. And we lucked out where the roof meets right up to our gutter on the side that meets up to our sunroom. PS. No more rag tops to replace every 4 years. Love the metal roof on this bad mama jama.

So far so good....
So far I have nothing to complain about... As you can see from the pics, transporting the gazebo was fairly simple. I'm sure you know by now from reading the other posts, the boxes are heavy. But that's whatcha want with this kind of purchase. Anyway, I've not built the structure yet. I am in the process of sanding each piece then staining it. To better match the deck stain. I will update as I go (when I can).
Thank you for your 5 star review!
Difficult to assemble
Had to use a tap and die to chase all the threads on the bolts and barrel nuts. Pre-drilled holes do not line up. Had to drill them out. This is the worst thing I have ever assembled. For this much money, you would expect better quality. Really had to fight it to get it assembled!

A few things worth knowing
My sister ordered this Gazebo and paid for it to be assembled. The guy did not show up and she was rescheduled a month later. I decided to put it together for her before summer was half over, but read every review beforehand. Even the guy at Sams that helped load it in the trailer said it was a difficult build. This project took 14 hours and two people. The more you read before starting the better things will go. If I HAD to build another one, I think I could trim the time down by 4-5 hours. The first thing I noticed when opening the boxes, this gazebo appears to have been packaged before the stain had time to dry. This causes parts to stick together and when they are pulled apart, stain is missing in spots. As noted in other reviews, the hardware that comes with this kit is junk. I opened box 1, took out all the hardware and ran it through a tap before ever starting the project. I also had to do this to a small number of the barrels (nuts). If you dont own a tap, buy one (you only need one size 5/16¨) before beginning or you will likely not be able to finish this project without buying/requesting more hardware. I would easily say that at least 50% of the bolts would have never worked without the tap. There is too much paint on the threads and it binds up. Furthermore, at no point in the directions does it ever to stop and square/level/plumb everything up. With two guys, its basically impossible. If you dont have five people and time to waste, go to the lumber yard, and buy 2-10´, 6-12´, 2-14´ boards. I personally bought 1x6ś and ripped them to save $$. It still cost me $46.11. Use those to brace everything up so when you tighten the bolts, the kit will stay square/level/plumb. Once it was free standing (around step 3), it was time to brace it up. That is my first picture. When finished, the gazebo is very nice looking, solid feeling, and a backyard upgrade.

good price
I took advantage of the special 1 day sale they had they featured this gazebo for $ 1299.00. I gotta say it’s worth it. It looks incredible in my back yard all my neighbors are coming out and quiver with envy. I wish I can show off a pix on here totally satisfied

Wonderful Product and Customer Service
I just finished the assembly of the Backyard Discovery Brookdale Gazebo and couldn't be more pleased! Early in the assembly I didn't open all the boxes first (as recommended) and thought I was missing some hardware. I called the 800 number and a live person answered and shipped the missing hardware overnight. To my embarrassment I found the hardware in the second last box I opened. I put footings in the ground below frost line with a post hole digger and 2x6 wood forms (for actual dimension 6x6) to the elevation of the adjacent pool. I also added 5" half-round gutters and a drip edge as the provided drip edge is ornamental only (since it's installed on top of the metal roof). I also added a ceiling fan and intend to add a wood burning fireplace to the rear, along with infill panels adjacent to hide the pool pump and filter. My assembly took several days' (usually by myself) but everything assembled exactly as intended, And I had no issues with the hardware at all...everything lined up perfectly! And the predrilled holes were perfect! The small torx bits they provide don't stay in the 12v drill motor as intended so I used small torx bits I already owned. I think T27. And don't pay to have it built. It's enjoyable. But you must start with a level and square base! And don't try to assemble the roof metal on the ground and lift the assembly. Build the wood frame and add the metal once the frame is installed on the structure. Two ladders (one insside and one outside, or keep moving the ladder as I did) and you can reach all the screw locations.
You shared some great adivice and I'm glad you found assembling the Brookdale enjoyable.
