You can’t beat the price or the taste!! My new go ti for cream cheese. Makes a great cheeseball!! I like how the measurement lines are built into the packaging!!

Good Cream Cheese Poor Packaging

Cardboard packaging falls apart. Texture of cream cheese is a little different, but our recipe ended up being virtually identical to using other cream cheese.

Perfection!

Made New York style cheesecake with this and it was decadent, indulgent and silky smooth with a creamy richness. There were very few ingredients in the recipe so the cream cheese was the star holding the act together and it did a fine job!

Awful cream cheese. Worse than dollar store

I bought the multipack of 8 oz packs, not this 3 lb brick, but they are not showing the multipak. The cream cheese in the multipack was awful. If you like bad tasting cream cheese, go buy it at the dollar store. I am sure that's where Sam's gets it. I will only buy cream cheese at Sam's if they go back to carrying Philadelphia brand.

Salty. Bitter. Sharper. Don't - just . . . DON'T.

The Member's Mark Cream Cheese has a consistency and texture exactly like the "City of Brotherly Love" cream cheese; but that's where the similarity ends. The taste is not as mild as the "real thing" in the silver-grey box, to start with. The Member's Mark version has a sharper taste and a decidedly prominent salty flavor. There's also a bit of bitterness under the saltiness. It takes over the entire experience of whatever you are eating. It absolutely dominates in baked goods. The pluses are as I mentioned the consistency and texture; it melted and performed in cooking and baking like "real thing". It also does NOT have the acrid, plastic-fake taste that many other store brands have. Of all the store brands of cream cheese I have ever tried, this is the closest. But it is not an exact copy, and the taste difference was noted in my cheesecake. My father-in-law took one bite, scrunched his eyebrows together and said, "Is this a new recipe?". I made the cheesecake at my house and took it to theirs for a Sunday gathering - he had no idea, but he sure noticed it on the first bite. It's a good product, but do not for one minute think you're going to fool anyone with it.

Bring Back Philadelphia Cream Cheese

Yuck! If you like Philadelphia Cream Cheese, you will gag in disgust at this. How to describe this? Well, imagine melting normal (Philadelphia) cream cheese, then adding and melting a birthday candle into it. i guess if you like wax you might enjoy this, but . . .

Creamy and spreadable like famous bagel shops!

I got to try this on 3-25-23 at the Athens, GA Sam’s and decided to buy it. It’s a 100% perfect match for the Philly brand cream cheese used on bagels by the famous Goldberg’s Deli in Atlanta, GA. Goldberg’s gets 30 lb big blocks of cream cheese and this Sam’s version is like a smaller more manageable version for home use. Sam’s was spreading it out easily and it was creamy and fluffy. This members mark version is a 3 pound block for $8.56 and the Philadelphia version next to it is 4, 8 ounce blocks (32 ounce/2 pounds) for $8.16, so for 40 cents more you get a extra pound. I’ve gone through the reviews on here and there are many impassioned, urgent warnings to not buy the members mark cream cheese under any circumstances. Why all the amped up passion over a $8 item? For spreading out on bagels it’s incredible!! No idea how it melts or what it’s like in a cheesecake. If you are a crybaby id probably say don’t buy it, but look out for them sampling it. Anytime I see amped up really negative reviews over items less than $10 it raises a red flag as a competitor hit piece. Because it’s so creamy and fluffy I can’t wait to mix it in with fresh chives.

good but needs individually wrapped

This cream cheese works well in all recipes, even new york style cheesecakes, tastes fine, however the problem is once opened if not used within a week even if rewrapped it starts to mold and is a big waste. Please wrap this big block in 8 oz packages so it will last as long as any other brand we buy at other stores, such as store brands or philly. It isn't worth spending the money in this big block form when you needs portions not the entire block.
