Still love Samsung but TV could be tweaked

Bought both a 32" and a 50" UHD TV for my mom and I, pricing couldn't be better for the quality and sizes. The picture quality, size and price are perfect. The odd thing that occurred was, because the picture is so bright & clear with UHD/4k TV, when you watch horror movies they're too 'bright' or 'well lit' and no longer as scary, lol. My other issue is the amount of HDMI and other slots as you need more, hence why I didnt give it a perfect score. The previous models had more hdmi/ USB slots than these. I ended up buying an hdmi splitter to plug in all my equipment, soundbar, multiple video game systems, etc. Another issue we both had was when you first start using the TV, the remote were very wonky, not registering when pointed at the TV, very sensative when pressing the buttons so you would fly by the selection you were trying to make. They didnt work properly until after updating twice. Sometimes there are connectivity issues. This used to happened during the first 2 weeks, but again, after updating it seems to have corrected itself. Otherwise, so far, both TVs are doing well.

Not the best picture quality

I bought this N5300 to replace a Samsung 32 TV that I bought 12 years ago that stopped working. That TV was also a 1080p, but I can't figure out why an old Samsung TV from 12 years ago. Had a better picture than the N5300 I just purchased! I've tried adjusting the picture every way possible, movie, standard, dynamic, natural. I've adjusted the contrast, color, sharpness, brightness, and the picture still looks bad. If I didn't know any better I would say this is not a 1080p, but a 720p TV. That old Samsung TV, had a picture that was light years ahead of this Samsung N5300, and I dont understand why.

Outstanding

I read so many reviews before selecting a brand. Went to two stores to look at models. This unit is for my bedroom. In my opinion, I wish it was a little smaller. Bought as a replacement for a 20 year old tv. The difference is incredible. Pleased, very pleased, with the update. I still don’t like the two little feet, would have preferred one central foot. For this reason I will have to mount it on the wall. My main concern after reading dozens of reviews was all the bad comments about the sound. Well, I find that it comes with plenty of power for my use. The image quality is out of this world. I would recommend it without reservation!

samsung not as good as they make them out to be. The volume started to not work and went to flashing mute but still had sound. Wasn't bad then it went down hill fast kicked me out of wireless and now It is stuck on 32 volume remote doesn't work and apps just quit altogether. I called Samsung to see what I could do. They said send it in and they can see what they can do if nothing then just buy another TV lol. Yea good customer service.!!

Functional but...

The TV mostly does the job, but every few weeks when I turn it on, the volume shoots sky high and the sound is garbled. I have to turn the TV and Direct TV off and on again to get normal sound. In addition, the picture is not particularly crisp. I expected more from a Samsung as my last Samsung TV was super clear and never experienced any issues until the end of its life.

No manual off and on button. Need to power recycle

I had the same problem as others report. After about 3 weeks, incident where TV does not turn on, even though IR sensor is receiving signal from remote. TV does not have a manual on-off switch. Only recourse is to unplug tv from power and then plug back in. This works very well otherwise, great picture, sound, smart features.

ok, not great

bought to replace 12 year old Sony xbr. hard to find good 32 inch tv. not a lot of choices. the good; light, easy to set up. internet connection is good. picture is ok.bad; sound is terrible (use sound bar) already had problem with not turning on (after two weeks) I don't think this one is going to last 12 years.

TV can’t crashing our break every other week

Tv worked fine at first after a while the applications did my work and eventually the picture would never show and all I’m left with is a black screen and sound. There were so many issues filing a service request I’m gonna just end up throwing away the tv because it is trash now. And a waste of money.

Different than other 3 Samsung's and not better.

Had great difficulty in actually setting up. I have three other Samsungs and no problems with any of them. For some reason, I kept getting a response telling me the model was invalid and it was on the back of the TV. SInce then, it stopped working and the fix was to upload software onto a blank flash drive and load that into the TV. I had selected automatic updates at set up. This has been a nightmare!

So far so good

got this tv for the bedroom/office area. read all the reviews and have not experienced any of the complaints mentioned. the picture is really sharp and crisp, the audio is spot on and i love that i can watch my amazon prime videos on the television.
