Good cookies. Great value. I can't make them for the price. I used a 1 tablespoon scoop like the directions said (about the size of a standard "break and bake" cookie). Instead of 77 cookies, I got 96 and 98 out of the 2 tubs that I bought. Great for feeding a crowd or dishing out just a bit at a time. They baked up nice too.

Being 100% honest, something definitely tastes “off” with this new recipe. I don’t make cookies very often, so tonight I just happened to grab some break and bake from the store to make for a trip with friends this weekend. I had no idea that it was a new recipe, and had not heard about the uproar. I didn’t even notice the note on the front about the money back guarantee. I was focused on reading the instructions, and getting these babies on the oven. First batch comes out and cools, and I go to try one. Immediately I just feel it tastes different... not as much flavor maybe? I checked the package to make sure I wasn’t missing anything, as they taste like a low fat, or healthy version. Finally noticed the note about recipe change, and that’s how I ended up here. Unbiased opinion, had no idea when I ate the first one, and undoubtably knew something was off. :(

I have ALWAYS used and preferred Pillsbury cookie dough, but this new recipe is horrible. The cookies do not cook as they did before and they definitely do not taste good at all.  I have now tried them a couple of times before I commented on them but they get worse the more I try them. At first I did not see the notice on the package that it was a new recipe but knew immediately when I cooked them that something was wrong. After I tasted them I looked to be sure I had gotten the right cookie and had not mistakenly gotten a store brand; I was totally shocked that Pillsbury would change what I consider the BEST pre-made cookie dough on the market. I have tried these cookies 3 times now and will not waste another penny of my money or any of my time baking these cookies. My family will not eat them and I do not blame them. Bring back the original Pillsbury chocolate chip cookie that I count on to make delicious cookies and get rid of this imposter of a replacement. Pillsbury should be ashamed to put their name on this product that does not represent the taste and quality I expect from the Pillsbury brand.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] If you don’t have time to home make chocolate chip cookies, these are a perfect substitute! Take them out of the oven about a min or so before the time on the package indicates. This will leave them a little doughy, but once they cool completely, you’ll have soft cookies!

The new recipe is absolutely disgusting.  I would give it 0 stars if that was an option. I used to make chocolate chip cookies from scratch and was known for them.  When I discovered the Pillsbury ones tasted exactly like my home made ones, I started substituting them and have done so for years.  People are always shocked that they were not from scratch.  I am so glad that I noticed the package stated "new recipe" and gave them a test try before Thanksgiving, because it would have been a disaster had I attempted to serve these. They don't bake well, the texture is off, they don't taste very good and they have an absolutely nasty aftertaste.  I don't think I have ever had a cookie with an aftertaste-- and it doesn't leave your mouth easily. I have no clue how these could have gotten past taste testers.  They are virtually inedible. They certainly don't taste "natural".  I think this is the first time in my house that a batch of cookies has been thrown away.  I guess I will be spending more time in the kitchen before Thanksgiving, because I will have to go back to scratch.  Please bring the original back.  If there are actually people that buy these more than once, then you can have two versions if need be. 

I bought this cookie dough last night and didn't think twice about it after eating. I enjoyed every, chocolate filled bite. I had no idea the recipe had changed, granted I don't buy this EVERY SINGLE week like many of the people commenting on here. It wasn't until I saw an article today about the crazed reviews on the new recipe that I realized THIS was the cookie dough I bought. I went and checked to be sure (I have another package in the fridge unopened). I even ate one of my leftover cookies baked from this dough (while reading these comments), and it did not change my opinion on the cookie. STILL tastes delicious even after a day. Like I said, I don't buy these every week, but I LOVE chocolate desserts, and I am definitely baking another batch of these cookies soon.
