Item arrived broken. The lid was unhinged and some of the material inside was coming out. This makes me think the box would no longer be water OR fire proof...

So it says apply pressure to top while lifting up the latch . . ummm okay - I have been trying to get the darn lid to budge NADA! Going back - this is just stupid - affix the keys to the outside of the box already!

Dont waste tour money. This is the crappest safe. There isnt anything to lock it with. The key goes in and turns. The metal latch moves but there is nothing for it to hook to.

We really like the Fireproof Box. It's just like the one that we have had for years. We like the idea that you can put full sized files into it for safe keeping.

Perfect for important papers to keep safe at home. Not easy to be picked up because of no handles, which is good since a thief can't snatch an go so easy. It is also quite heavy. The price was fantastic, almost half the price of Amazon .

This is a great product for the price. I found it for just under $40 and am very pleased with it. I am not concerned about bolting to ground, moreso for fire/water protection.

Well constructed and should get the job done. However, please note (I didnt) this thing weighs 28 pounds! Empty. So youre not going to moving this thing around much. Still a lot more convenient than having to go to bank to access safety deposit box.

Nice box. Roomy for plenty of important stuff. However with both the outside and inside oiled, it collects and holds dust on the outside and I worry about papers inside getting messed up so put them in plastic.

We were looking for a fire-proof safe to keep secure our documents (i.e. titles. birth certificates, etc). This is the perfect size for regular letter-sized documents. Hanging files can be used to organize the papers. I also used page protectors.
