very heavy. my manila folders fit in fine, but I'm not using the hanging ones. seems like this will keep my important documents safe. I'd recommend it. I like the key feature.

The safe arrive locked and without any keys. Totally useless as is (unless you want to use it as a brick). Clearly minimal quality control at the manufacturer. I will be returning it for a refund as I don't want to invest more time on product from this company.

After reading so many negative reviews (on seller's website) I had some "buyer's remorse" awaiting delivery of this item. I was pleasantly surprised to find this file box in very good shape with a minimal amount of white residue (what many complained about) on it. I was looking for something to store documents, etc. in and this works for me. Hopefully I never have to find out how fireproof it is.

One of my first investments to my husband and my marriage was a safe box to keep our valuables and important documents. I was personally looking for something larger so that I would not have to fold our documents. This was the perfect size for the job. I put our marriage license along with our degrees and extra keys. Perfect size. The file folders I bought fit perfectly. Everything is organized just the way I like it.

It is what I expected, the perfect size for documents in file folders. There was more than enough room for all my documents. What would have been helpful is a pocket in the lid for smaller items like passports or an accessory that could be purchased for storing smaller items, i.e. a pocketed hanging file folder.

This is a very nice file box. It is heavy, so you won't be moving it around too much. Put it in a secure place and leave it there. I hope I never have to test the fire resistance quality of this box. I would have give it 5 stars, but you can not leave this box unlocked and remove the key. I am only keeping important papers in it---not jewelry or cash. I can only remove the key if the box is locked. I would leave the key in the box, but I own a similar box and it fell over and broke the key in the lock and I am afraid the same would happen to the key to this box too.

This safe is the perfect size to handle all my most important documents, as well as other items, and still be small enough to fit any one of several places I considered hiding/securing it. The built in file folder system makes keeping everything well organized within the unit.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] There is lots of room inside the safe and it even has built in rails for 8.5 x 11 size hanging file folders. It on the heavy side but not such that it can't be lifted up and carried. I highly recommend this product.

Thank you SentrySafe for asking me to write a review. I haven’t had a chance to burn anything near this document safe to see if it’s going to work. I’ll be sure to return and update my review should my house burn down around this thing. The lock works, it’s heavy and folders with 8 1/2” x 11” documents fit inside. I can even get a few memory sticks in there.

I love Sentry products. I am not certain this one would protect in a fire (due to excessive lid movement when locked), however I purchased it because of the size for our coin collection. We hopefully never find out if it protects the contents from fire!
