The safe certainly serves its intended purpose. However, it's heavy. Being heavy and slippery, it really needs handles to pick it up and carry it. Other than that, only minor issues. The label on the inside was peeling off upon arrival. I took it off and attached it to a piece of paper since it didn't have a prayer of staying on the inside cover and I didn't want it to fall off and get stuck to papers I put in the safe! The key lock isn't a lock, more like a latch. It's not for security, it's for fire safety so don't expect top security. The file folder rails are built in but the description isn't clear. It's a very good value if all you want is a fire safe.

Received the fire safe and broke a key off on the lock Got the broken key out but now only have 1 key it’s a 3b3 and can not find where to purchase a new replacement key all sites including sentry do not list this as a key no. Seems like it is a discontinued item And no longer available

This is a very nice file box. It is heavy, so you won't be moving it around too much. Put it in a secure place and leave it there. I hope I never have to test the fire resistance quality of this box. I would have give it 5 stars, but you can not leave this box unlocked and remove the key. I am only keeping important papers in it---not jewelry or cash. I can only remove the key if the box is locked. I would leave the key in the box, but I own a similar box and it fell over and broke the key in the lock and I am afraid the same would happen to the key to this box too.

I like the size of the safe, and the fact that I can place hanging file folders in it to keep all of my documents organized. I purchased it specifically because it is fire resistant so that I feel I can safely keep my personal documents in my home for my children to easily access in the event that something should happen to me.

After reading so many negative reviews (on seller's website) I had some "buyer's remorse" awaiting delivery of this item. I was pleasantly surprised to find this file box in very good shape with a minimal amount of white residue (what many complained about) on it. I was looking for something to store documents, etc. in and this works for me. Hopefully I never have to find out how fireproof it is.

Pros: Thick walls, heavy, perfect internal dimensions for letter sized files, hanging file folder ridges, easy to register on website, key stays in while it's unlocked Cons: No handles, lid hinge allows slight movement making me have to press lid to left or right at front to get key to turn.

This is exactly what I wanted for locking up important papers like birth certificates, and things like that. You need to purchase hanging files seperately but they fit perfectly(regular paper size not legal size). The only thing that would have made this even better would be if they included some kind of bolt you could use to secure it to the floor so no one could walk off with it.

This fireproof box is understandably heavy. What's not so understandable is the lack of handles to help lift this heavy and slippery box. Also, be advised that you must have the key to both open and close this box, you can't unlock it and close the lid. Not sure that I would recommend this product due to those two difficulties

I was looking for a water/fireproof safe for documents, and other things and everything was too small...or way too large. Then I found this file safe. It is perfect! I love it. I got it home and right away put all my valuables inside. It opens easily, and is attractive in looks. I have it in my closet, and it is heavy enough to stay put when I open and close it. Perfect. I recommend this for anyone looking for a safe that isn't tiny, and isn't huge...this is the perfect mid-size secure safe.

It's too early to review the item. Since I haven't used much. However, I liked the quality of item. I'm not sure how long the keys would work. And what needs to be done if items are stuck inside and if I loose the key. Hope the manufacturer provides me a duplicate key whenever required. Rest all is good so far.
