After many, many years, I tried a new razor and company for several months. One day, after realizing the "new" razor wasn't getting as close I like, I went back to Fusion. I call it the yellow beard beater. Even with just soap and water, the closeness of my shave is awesome. Hooray, I'm back with what consistently does the job! Oh, by the way, I get a minimum of 3 weeks a blade.

It gives me a close shave, and I noticed the razors last longer than other brands I have tried previously! I will continue to use this razor!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I think the Gillette Fusion Proshield Razor gives a nice close shave, without irritating my skin. I waited until I had a full weeks worth of growth and put the razor to the test. It took a few swipes to fully rid of all the stubble but there was no pulling or irritating sensation from the 5 blades. With the precision trimmer, I was able to get a nice even cut for my sideburns, on the first try! The lubrication strips did such a good job, I felt that I didn't need to put aftershave on. The Flexball technology worked okay with my facial contours but I still had to re position the razor when shaving around my Adams apple to get all the hairs. The razor had a nice weight to it, didn't seem too heavy or too lightweight. It's been four days since my shave and no five o'clock shadow, I would've had to shave again with my old razor in that amount of time.

The thing that got me when I used it was the clean shave all over tight edges it a all exclusive state of the art technology built in lubricant for longer use durable constructed to last with the interchangeable cartridges sold separately but my kit came with 2 extra for longer used. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Gillette was nice enough to send me their Fusion ProShield Razor along with a can of their latest shave gel in exchange for an honest review. Now that I have been using it for a couple of months, here are the important points: 1. Easy to open. They perforated the plastic packaging so I could open it with my bare hands - seems really obvious, but clearly the competitors haven't gotten the message yet. 2. It works with your existing Gillette Fusion razor system (razors and handles are interchangeable). 3. It is better (slightly). The two main improvements over other Gillette razors are a) it has those moisturizing strips before AND after the blades, so shaving is a little more pleasant and b) it has a "flexball" so it is easier to shave the contours of your face. 4. I work from home, so my shaves are all different - different times of day, sometimes daily, sometimes shaving a week of stubble or more. This razor doesn't care. It can handle any length of stubble. One other thing - the new Gillette shave gel is awesome. Why? Because the bottom of the can is plastic, so it won't leave rust-rings on my bathroom counter. Seems obvious, but Gillette seems to be the only one with a plastic shave gel container.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The Fusion® ProShield™ with lubrication before and after works like a miracle. It is the closest smoothest shave I've had. Cuts like a charm without knicks and leaves your skin feeling refreshed and mousturized. Definitely worth it, specially as a present, I know I loved getting mine.

I tried both manual razors and I found that the ProGlide is superior to the ProShield. I use the razors to shave my head and I found that the lubricating strips wear down faster than the other razor also the micro comb on the ProShield irritates my skin and gives the shave a coarser feel. It actually feels like I have to take more strokes to get a better shave than the ProGlide.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] It's been a couple weeks since I received the Fusion ProShield Razor for free in the mail from Gillette to try out and review as part of the BzzAgent program, and I really like it. A little about me: If you want to know how this performs on the chin, you'll need to read a different review. Instead, I like keeping my head completely bald and my neck completely clean, with a trimmed little beard running down my jawline to give more prominence to my chin. What this means is, I tested the razor mainly on my scalp and on my neck. First, scalp: The "ball" mechanism is great if you use a razor on your scalp. It makes shaving there a little more forgiving, because the blade automatically adjusts to a good angle to shear off the hair without any messy accidents. Before getting this razor, I had mostly given up on this endeavor and was stuck using the shortest blades on my Oster Classic 76 to keep my head almost bald. Now it's as smooth as a baby's. I will definitely buy a refill of cartridges for this purpose alone. Five stars for scalp. Second, neck: I actually prefer cheaper razors for my neck with less flexibility. Why? Because I can see my neck pretty easily in the mirror and am used to shaving it with a more rigid blade without a problem. Also, maintaining the straight hairline along my jaw and chin is actually easier with an inflexible blade system. Four stars for neck. I recognize however that the particulars about how I shave my neck are simply not applicable to many guys, and the flexibility this blade gives around the chin is probably just as great as it is on the scalp, so I would encourage you to to try it if it's in your budget. And if you shave your scalp, and I really like you, I might just get you this for your birthday. -Jordan

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Picking a razor is rather tricky for me. I have sensitive skin, and my facial hair grows back very quickly. I need a blade that will let me have a smooth shave, and also that won't irritate my skin afterwards. I truly believe I solved my problem with this blade. After a week's use, which was 3 shaves, my skin was smooth and not irritated. This is now my preferred blade to use.

So much hype around shaving; I was skeptical but bought one anyway. BEST SHAVE I HAVE EVER HAD. The photo is I now. The shave was ten hours ago. My wife noticed, just by looking at me, not touching!! How the razor manages it doesn’t much matter. The point is, it delivers on on its promises!
