I wanted UL listed reliably designed alarms for my workshop and garage. I installed these on new years so it will be easy to remember to replace the two cheap AA cells each year as a routine. Low battery chirping in those locations will not be too bothersome. The mounting plates are easy to install. In some cases the power goes out (Blown circuit breaker caused by a shorting appliance) before the alarm can sound so AC detectors are of limited value. Lithium batteries last much longer but they also cost much more and I recycle all of my used batteries anyways. I tested these with cigarette smoke and they responded fast. Keep in mind that 10 year old detectors should always be replaced. I have no fire insurance and 5 smoke detectors as well as 4 extinguishers and three fire blankets.

I just purchased a week ago, so I can't speak as to the battery life BUT the installation was SUPER easy %26 these are so loud that they can be heard outside!!

I would highly recommend this product. it has a long lasting battery life. it's convenient and comes with everything you need to set it up. 10 out of 10 recommend

time to replace home smoke detectors.. Please with product

Bought two packs for a total of 4 detectors. One failed within a month resulting in a gap in detector coverage in the home. You get what you pay for I guess.
