Great Camera Doorbell
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I am late to the camera doorbell game as my house actually doesn't have a pre-wired doorbell, so I was pretty excited that Google/nest finally came out with a battery powered camera doorbell. Setup is pretty straight forward. You have to use the google home app, which I already had as I have the next thermostat and google Wi-Fi already. It pretty much walks you through step by step. Once setup and mounted, you're good to go. The battery is rated to last about 1.5-6 months depending on activity; I set mine up about 2 months ago and had to charge it already. It sends a push notification when the battery is low which is nice. Video and audio quality are both very good; you can also talk back to guests/visitors. When someone rings the doorbell, you get a push notification on the phone. If you have any of those google home speaker devices, a chime will play through those, but I don't have any so can't speak on that much. The only bummer about the device is video is only saved on the cloud for 3 hours. If you want a specific video you have to download it immediately or or sign up for the Nest Aware subscription. I also have Arlo wireless cameras and they offer unlimited video for up to a week before they auto delete the files from the cloud; it gives me plenty of time to view and save anything I want. It's quite a stark contract between the two brands. All in all, a very good product. Just wish they gave customers more free video time. But in terms of ease of setup, video quality, and now actually having a doorbell, I still recommend the product.
Would not activate despite hours of trying.
Does not work--would not activate. Spent hours reviewing information on website and chat rooms, then several hours with Google on line. Google tech support had all kinds of interesting suggestions, none of which worked. I waited too long to return for refund. Avoid

Easy add to security!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The Nest Video bell was easy to install snd has amazing and reliable security features. There are directions for new and replacement installs, wired and wireless. They are easy to access and understand. You can use combination of App or website/video. You need a Computer tablet or smart phone. I have all 3 but smart phone is best as portable and you can also use to be sure you have a good WiFi signal at door bell location. I wanted wired with existing chime. I could not find my existing transformer so I used a multi meter to test electric current. I was fairly sure it was compatible but wanted to be sure. It was. I was also glad I had the battery option as it would work if I had any issues with existing wiring or location. My door bell placement is about 2 feet from the door. Following the instructions I set up the camera thru the app and tested camera view before installing the mounting. I needed the add on plate that angles the camera either left or right. My test looked good. The camera mount was easy to install and had screw offsets to adjust for level. I was surprised how well centered the camera was to my front door. The resolution was excellent too. I easily set up a zone to detect nearby but not far street activity. You can do a lot with settings from distance to sensitivity, sound, history etc. You can also answer thru the video, or used canned recordings and activate from your smartphone at home or in another country! Night vision is great too! We travel a lot and get unexpected deliveries often. This helps us get things in quickly and have eyes on the house and activity at all times. The peace of mind is “priceless”!
So easy
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I just love Nest so much. I have their thermostat too. This was very easy to install, you have to look at diagrams on the doorbell to figure out what kind you have etc, but they walk you through it, and everything related to the nest cam is plug and play easy. It is so fun to see what's happening outside the door! Especially since I have a ton of business deliveries and live alone, and my door has no spy hole, I definitely want to see who's at the door.
Google or bust
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I got this camera to have at my side garage door as I have another brand at my front door. Unfortunately this brand is not compatible with other brand or Alexa apps. Worst of all you MYST have a google account and it DIES not even work with their own app!!
Wireless Option is Great! A Well Designed Product
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My property has a 'set in' porch which limits my field of view with where my wiring was installed for my doorbell. I very much like the convenience to be able to mount this doorbell wherever I desire. This product allows me to receive more consistent notifications of a person whereas the prior product I used often wouldn't recognize or provide notification at all. Additionally, I enjoy that the doorbell does not need a physical chime. So for new parents that would prefer a doorbell that doesn't audibly 'chime,' this is a good solution. It would be great for homes/use cases that may not have a physical chime. However, I do wish I was able to play a chime on a smart home speaker other than a Google product. The product design is attractive. I have the all-white product (Snow as the manufacturer calls it) and the body design, camera, and case are well integrated. The setup was very simple. After downloading the Google Home app, I didn't need to reference any instructions. I LOVE that the product uses a USB-C connector. The mounting bracket is required for the camera to work, so don't lose or damage that part. The product came 75% charged, and it only took 90 minutes to charge the rest of the way. I have other Nest products but hadn't used the Google Home app previously. I believe the additional attention the Google Home app receives makes that app superior to Nest and I was pleasantly surprised to be able to see my other Nest products in the Google Home app.
Nest Doorbell (battery)
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I feel very secure now with the ring door bell, when im away and my family is at home it gives me that piece of mind that i can see what's going on. The installation was simple i remove my old doorbell and replaced it with ring, it was easy to pair with my wifi.
Great Features and Security
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Google Nest Doorbell with battery is a great product. It offers security by way of letting you know who is at your door. It offers live view in HDR. It works great even in the dark. It offers phone alerts, too. You can even talk and listen to the person at your door. I found the installation was a little tricky for me, but I am not a handy person, so it maybe easier for people who have those skills. It uses a battery, so there are no wires to mess with. I do recommend this product because of it's simplicity. Thanks.
Makes me feel safe!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I'm a 65 yr. old woman. So feeling safe and secure in my home is very important to me. I love my Google Nest doorbell. It connects with my phone so I can see whoever shows up at my door with a very clear picture on my phone. I gave it 4 stars because you need a little computer/phone savvy, but it was well worth it.
Ding Dong Wrong
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I absolutely love this this doorbell! I love how pressing the button feels, and the camera is clear and sharp. It recognizes faces and packages, even the delivery people. However, it has some glaring issues I would deem as problematic. First, as my title suggests, there is no way this thing is not getting stolen. It barely hangs on to this thin piece of metal that doesn't secure it at all. All someone would have to do, and WILL do, is walk up and pluck it off the house, put it in their pocket, and leave. I could watch them do that too I assume. However, after they get a certain distance away from my Wi-Fi they are gone with my doorbell. I close the door too hard, and it falls. Which coincidentally, is my next point. It doesn't take much to shake it loose, but on the gulf coast of Texas, this thing will probably get plucked off the house by some hurricane force wind and fly away before Christmas. Next, you need a Google Nest Mini or Google speaker to hear it. I did not think about it before I got it, but I figured it came with a speaker to ding-dong. The most confusing part for me is that it is not displayed like the Nest cameras in the Nest App. I have Nest cameras that I can see on the Nest app, obviously, however the Nest doorbell is not on the Nest app. It is on the Google Home app. I bet they change that though because that makes no sense. It is so close to being amazing, yet it just misses the mark in a lot of ways.
