[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought this about two months ago, and purposely waited to see how it worked before reviewing. We have had 3 other portables. One EdgeStar, One Hisense One Sharp. This one is by far the best in every way. First, it is the quietest by a huge amount. Other reviews stating it's not that quiet have either not owned portables before, or clearly do not know what they are they are talking about. The compressor is so quiet is great. We are able to talk in the room with it 6 ft. away and the TV drowns out the compressor noise completely. Second the hose coming out straight up is a HUGE advantage for space. Storage of hose and window adaptor is a fantastic idea. The features and remote work perfectly and it's cooling and dehumidifying is strong and with this summer's very high humidity we never had to empty it. Then the styling is the best of all current brand models out there. It cost more, but you are getting more. Ok if it was $100 less it would be completely un-beatable. If it last as long as the three others we've had. it a great deal, as it's better in every way.

I bought this because I have the lg 10,000 btu and the compressor would turn off when it was really hot out but it would blow cold when it was working . Thought this 14,000 btu one would be colder . It's not it is quiet but I need something cold

Really power efficient

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Best portable air conditioner I've owned in my life! Cools with ease in my bedroom although it is a bit overkill for a small bedroom I do not like the heat. Worth the price tag you will not regret it!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I am not allowed to have a window air conditioner where I live so I searched high and low for a solution that was a compromise. I considered dual hose units as a priority but I realized unit noise level and inconspicuancy was more important. This fit the bill. I was able to install and use it without it being noticed. It successfully cooled a 300 sq ft area within a short time from 85 to 75 degrees. I made sure to cover vents and cracks beforehand. It was a lifesaver during the hottest part of the summer and appears to be energy efficient as well. Expensive unit but pleased with my purchase so far.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought this as a gift for my son for his apartment in Los Angeles. Setup probably took a little over an hour and most of that was spent securing the hot air exhaust in a window. After that we turned it on and right away it began to cool his apartment. Noise is not bad. We could easily carry on a conversation with it running. You can definitely tell the difference in the noise when it is running on low speed vs high speed, however, the high speed noise level was not bad. It cooled very well. Los Angeles is not a humid city. After the unit had run for perhaps five hours I emptied the condensation water reservoir and it only contained about 2 ounces of water. I hope that the unit uses some of the heat generated in cooling the apartment to evaporate the water in the condensation reservoir and then exhaust it outdoors through the exhaust vent. I don't know that it works this way. Perhaps in a more humid environment after five hours of operation there would be considerably more water in the reservoir than just a couple of ounces. The only tools required to install this air conditioner was a Phillips Screw Driver and Duct tape. We have not yet tried the WiFi capability of this unit so I can't comment on that. I left that for my son to figure out.

This unit does the job and does the job quietly. We even have it close to the bed. Very easy to set up

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Cooling a 3 car garage in Houston. Holds 77° in the heat of the summer. Just wish portable A/C units could be more efficient and more consistent with the manufacturer BTU rating.
