Two stars deducted: one for poor instructions and one for extremely poor customer support. You may discover that the four screws attaching the metal support bar require a 10 mm metric socket. You may find that you will need an impact driver for those screws. If you contact customer support you may find the person who responds can’t tell you the size of the screws. Lifetime does not recommend using an impact driver, but appears to use one in their video and admits so, and good luck assembling the box without one. The box itself is nice except as a short person I find it difficult to reach the lid to close it. A minor detail. I do NOT recommend it. I noticed there is no way to uncheck that in making this review.

This deck box is large and deep. Holds all our patio cushions, 2 chairs and loveseat bottom and back cushions. Easy simple straight forward assembly. Gas strut supported lid practically opens itself. Small issue with strut resolved in minutes by manufacturer customer support staff. Highly recommend. All our family and friends have commented on the box as attrative and well made. It can also be used as a seat.

Just what I needed for my chair cushions. Installation was simple and straight forward. All the hardware was included and everything fit where the instructions said it would. Assembled the entire thing in about 30 minutes and my 9 year old did most of the work. Not sure what the other reviewers are complaining about. Good size box and should do the job.

Problem #1: the slot for the Lid Support was too small. Had to use strong scissors to enlarge it. Problem #2: the nuts to attach the latch to the lid were impossible to tighten. Carried on, as we don’t plan to lock the box. Problem #3: Four screws DQS to secure the suport to the lid were too large. Used screws we had on hand instead. Problem #4: Holes in hinges for screws DRF too small. Got out the workbench, clamps and drill and carefully enlarged the holes. Problem #5: Realized it would be impossible to attach the hinges to the side panels because of the previously discovered problem with the nuts and bolts BES/AAB. So we had to make a trip to the hardware store to get replacements. We started this project at 9:00 am, thinking we would be finished before the World Cup Final (and the heat of the day as we are in the midst of an extreme heat alert). With all the additional work to find substitutes, fix manufacturing faults and make a trip to the hardware store, (and taking a break to watch the World Cup final and have some lunch) we didn’t finish until 2:30 pm. And we were only able to finish at all because we have a fairly good collection of tools and hardware.

I watedfor a very long time for it to come in due it being out of stock. Got it yesterday my son who is very mech.inclined andn me who isn 83 put it together. The instructions could have been clearer but that you look over and easily make clearer. I would give it 5 stars but can only give it 3 or 4 which is still pretty good. The manuf. and quality control should really look into the fact that some holes do not line 4 up properly. My son had a very hard time attaching the bottom and parts of the cover metal strip due to mis-alignments.i never write any reviews but such with such a good reputation that Lifetime has it would behove you to look into this. The box was broken on the ends but no damage inside. We really do love it.

We recently added this to the patio to help us keep the yard a bit more tiddy. We knew it was a large box but I've been really surprised with how much it holds. We currently have 4 camping chairs in the box, several cushions for our patio furniture and several yard toys and still there is plenty of room for more. So far it's a very durable box so much so that it easily doubles as a bench. Instructions for assembly were good and easy to understand. It was real simple to put together, took me about 20 minutes or so is all. There's not a better deck box on the market!!

It looks really sturdy and it’s a great size. It does make a really loud sound when closing and wears trying to figure out what’s. It quite right. There are several screws that screws into spots that didn’t have predrilled holes and even ended up sticking out oddly. Those instructions shud also have explained and spelled that out when they only said, “don’t tighten fully,” it would have made a huge difference. The cover was slightly damaged but we assembled it anyway and hope to get a lot of good use from it., regardless. I don’t think itye time and effort to replace it would have been worth the effort.

Step 1.4 says “insert tabs at the bottom of the panel into the slots in the floor panel. You should hear the tabs snap into place.” This was impossible. No matter how hard I pushed, the tabs would not engage. After over an hour of trying progressively more aggressive techniques, I finally gave up, put the piece of junk back in its box and returned it. Thanks for wasting my Saturday.

This deck box is made of tough materials; is of excellent quality, and it looks great on my outdoor deck. It also required a solid five hours to assemble and required many tools, to include a power drill. But the hard work was worth it because I know personally how strong this box is. It was engineered well, but there are some typos and missing information in the instructions. I believe that the amount of work needed to assemble the box allowed for stronger materials at a good price, so it was worth the effort. I am very pleased.

This is at least third one we have purchased. We've left them with all the houses we have sold. This box holds enough cushions for 4 patio chairs, a carpet, two flag poles and flags. Everything stays dry in the rain/snow. We don't put a lock on the lid, but we do use a clip to make sure the lid does not blow open in strong winds. We had one issue with the current box lid, but Lifetime replaced it. We will continue to buy Lifetime products and particularly the outdoor storage boxes.
