This product is fantastic! I am originally from Tampa, Florida. That means I grew up eating yellow rice in places like The Columbia , El Carmello, etc., and this rice is comparable. We use it on an almost constant basis; with chicken, fish, and beef, and it always comes out delicious. If you follow the directions, your rice will be delicious, but if you add some capers and a little tomato paste, it really kicks the flavor into the stratosphere. Also, you can put it in a slow cooker with some chicken breasts and/or thighs, and some chicken broth for a spectacularly easy and delicious chicken and yellow rice. As an added bonus, Par Excellence Yellow Rice is gluten free, as well as soy and MSG free. This is really important to us since my wife is allergic to wheat, soy, and MSG. She can enjoy the flavor without any fear of an allergic reaction. This makes dinner time so much easier, and DELICIOUS!

We used this for my daughters wedding, it was so easy. I poured the contents of the container into a large foil pan, then added the 5 quarts of water and a stick of butter. (I think you're supposed to add more butter than that, but that's all I had on hand) Then I stirred it all around and covered it with foil. About an hour later when we were ready to go to the venue, the rice had absorbed all the water. We put the pans in the warmer and it was perfect when we were ready to serve the rice, it was so easy. We served about 150 people and used 3 containers of rice.

It has been over a year since I purchased my previous container of this rice. The rice we recently purchased to replenish our stock is starkly different in taste....as in it now tastes just like plain parboiled rice, that happens to look yellow. It's almost as if there is no saffron in it any more. We have been getting this rice for years and it always tasted a particular way. We thought maybe we purchased a bad container, so we threw it away, but again with a new container same results. I know 2021 was a wild year for the supply chain....maybe it will get better again?

I bought this recently, opened to use yesterday, and upon peeling of the protective cover, I found a THIN PIECE OF WIRE SEVERAL INCHES LONG in it !! Contacted the Company IMMEDIATELY and as of 24 hours later, NO RESPONSE ! Imagine if I hadn't seen it and gone ahead and prepared....someone could have choked and possibly died from ingesting it !!! The flavor of this product is excellent but SAFETY??????

]I saw this at Sam's and my family has always liked the saffron rice in the golden mylar bags. So I thought I'd take a chance. Unfortunately the first time I made some for the family I only made one cup of dry rice mix. It didn't have much flavor. So it took a while before I made more, but when I was preparing to make it I noticed that the seasoning was all at the bottom of the container. So I turned it upside down and shook it for a couple of minutes. Wow what a difference. So if you're buying or thinking about it just remember to turn it over and shake it real good. If you do you'll find you've purchased a really good saffron rice mix that you can keep in the pantry for use anytime.

Saw this product at another Sam's location while visiting family. Bought one to try and loved it! Now I purchase one or two containers to take home each time I visit. Although this is really flavorful, I like my veggies and usually add a 2-oz. jar of dried vegetable flakes to each big container. Shake thoroughly to distribute -- easier for me cooking for 1, than adding to the pot each time.
