Super nice hot tub and a great price!

This is the best hot tub I've been in! The price was less than half that the local spa store charges for one this size. We just had to pay $300 for help to set it up where we wanted it and $40 for an electrician to hook it up (wiring was there from the old hot tub). The jets are great and love that it has 2 pumps. My Grandson loves the lights!

Everything we wanted!

We installed our hot tub a week ago and so far there are zero complaints!! It’s spacious for 6, the lights at night are fun, and the jets are powerful and strategically placed!!! Amazing value! I am having difficulties keeping the chlorine levels up, seems to dissipate quickly!! As a newbie, we are working on it.

Great stress relief!

Great stress relief and also relieves my back and knee pains. It is deep enough to sit in and relieve muscle stiffness in my legs, back and shoulders. A great all over body relaxing experience. I love it!!!

Awesome so far

In full disclosure, this spa was just delivered and installed so this review is based only on my initial impressions. The spa was delivered in less than three weeks via a tractor trailer truck. It comes shrink wrapped standing on it's side on a pallet and the driver will place it in your driveway. I was able to search Angie's List to find someone to move it to the final spot in my backyard ($225). Upon removing the shrink wrap, everything was intact and nothing damaged. These are Strong spas made in PA so it's easy to compare prices in local stores. Buying locally, you will pay $8K-$8.5K and the electrician couldn't believe how little I paid through Sam's. The cabinet is brown composite but you can definitely tell it's plastic. It doesn't look bad but because our deck is gray, I'll probably put gray lattice around it. The foam paneling insulation, and some spray foam, looks adequate but I may add some more. It cost me about $1,100 to have it wired but that's a variable cost so get a couple quotes. The electrician estimated that it would probably increase the electric bill by $14-$20 a month (I'm sure more in the winter) but I live in a mild climate area and have not received a bill since install. At noon of the install, the water temperature was 55 degrees and it was about 60 degrees outside. By 7:00 PM, the water was already at 102 degrees so the heater appears to work very well. This has a variable speed pump and a constant speed circulation pump. When you use the boost feature (I think it's powered by the circulation pump) the jet pressure is very impressive. I actually had to turn some of the jets down to be able to talk to my wife. I like the fact that the seating is not sectioned off like some other tubs and you could probably have four adults and two kids in it comfortably. Six adults would be tight and you'd be touching legs. The jets are supposed to be stainless steel, and they probably are, but I've tapped on them 100 times and it sounds a lot like plastic. That said, it could just be a thin stainless steel covering. I can't tell and not sure I care. The light works good and has multiple settings. It's not overly bright, but I don't want it to be. The cover that came with it looks like good quality (dark brown) and I was told by the installer to spray it with pledge to increase longevity. The only thing I was disappointed about was that I asked two questions about whether or not this could be converted to a salt water system and what the dimensions were from the ground to where the top of the side cabinet meets the shell. Both went unanswered by the manufacturer but were not deal breakers. I didn't want to use chlorine or bromine so I opted for the mineral stick from Nature 2. It got excellent reviews but I can't comment from personal experience yet. Overall, an excellent buy. I did purchase through the professional membership to extend the warranty. So feel free to look at similar Strong spas at a local dealer, but don't let them scare you out of buying online through Sam's all of the variable costs will still be the same and there are a many people that service Strong spas if you need it. Just remember, this weighs 4,000 lbs fully loaded so have the site prepped. But it's well worth it and I'll update if anything goes wrong with it.

Love It!

I bought this hot tub almost a year ago now. I wanted to use it through several seasons to see how it held up. Of course I live in SC, so we do have mild winters. But, I am in love with it! It is low maintenance, holds the temp very well, and is perfect all around! I purchased the hot tub to help with back problems, and of course simply it is relaxing! I shopped around for quite some time, a year or so, to compare prices and features. The local dealers were outrages, and they were lacking in features for what you were paying. I would most definitely recommend this hot tub to anyone. Great value for a great price!

Great when it's not leaking

We got this spa last year and were excited to get it started. After some time for set up, started using it in November. Sprung a leak in April and waited about a month for repair (under warranty). We're just shy of the one year mark and the water is gone AGAIN! Hoping the warranty will fix again. We must say when it is functioning, it is a great spa. We love the lights and the jets are wonderful. We're just tired of the leaks. Maybe we just got a lemon?

Made by Stong Spa Company???

Made my purchase based upon the fact that the Strong Spa Company makes this spa. I was extreemly disappointed when I saw inside the cabinet that it has untreaded wood framing and very little insulation. It is a great looking tub on the outside, but it is what is on the inside that gives it any chance of longevity. I have had mine running now for 2 days and I can see that it is wet under the cabinet, but can not detect any obvious leaks. That will mean that the structure supporting the tub will not last long. I do not understand why they would choose to build with cheap materials when the real cost is in the labor to manufacture these spas. Wish I knew this before making such a large and important purchase.

When will I ever be able to use this spa?

I received a similar (no longer available) hot tub after waiting 10 weeks. The delivery was curbside. The delivery people didn't allow me to pay extra to have it placed on my deck. Fortunately, the delivery guys accepted to put it there for an extra $100. When it was received, the packaging was not very good and there were tear marks in the thin plastic, and a gouge in the acrylic at the top. Absolutely no protection to the top other than the plastic wrap. I was able to get it installed and filled it up. I used the spa 1 time and the GFCI tripped. We took off the panels and after drying off the water that leaked, we were able to restart the hot tub and found that it was leaking in 3 places. The control panel had no gasket or seal and splashing water went right through it. Also the blower motor was leaking water through a PVC pipe. There was also a disconnected hose which said "blower vent" that was leaking water. I tried calling the warranty number at Strong Spas (the manufacturer) and it took 2 days and 1 disconnect to get through to someone. A total of 6 hours on the phone. (I also sent emails through the company website without receiving a reply). I finally got through to someone and explained the problem. He said they would send a technician to repair it within 7-10 days. I asked for the name or number of the technician. He said that would be given to me by another department. I never heard back. It's now been 12 days. I was able to get through to someone in the repair section. She asked for my number in case we got cut off. Well guess what, we got cut off and she never called back. I tried calling that number again and was not able to get through to anyone. I am thinking of returning this spa, but I am responsible for shipping it back. This is the 2nd spa I've owned and I definitely think the quality of this one is lacking. Add to that, the poor customer service and I wouldn't recommend.
