I'm not even going to mention the taste or smell when cooking with the "new recipe"; but it definately does not like heat. As a matter of fact it goes through some kind of chemical change; as it heats it goops up in the pan, becomes a glob of sticky stringy stuff that sticks to the food. You can't cook eggs with this; and to drizzle over vegi's -- forget it. The goop can't possibly be healthy to consume. I'm certainly not going to give it to my loved ones. I've switched to another brand.

I prefer to buy the calcium enriched version but this time we tried the original again and it's still fantastic, just as I remember it as a child!! I used it in my popular mashed golden potatoes for dinner and everyone loves the smooth creaminess of the butter!! We especially love to use it on our buiscuits too! Baking with it is a dream! Cookies!! Pie crusts!! Anything! I deffinately reccomend this over even some good real butters, because it just tastes better and last I heard is better for your body! Country Crock is competitively priced, as well as easy to find in your local grocery store. As far as taste, it is delicious and compliments your bread and potatoes nicely. I also find that using Country Crock as an active ingredient in my recipes, heads rich flavor in the finished product. I would recommend this butter to anyone looking for a well made product. In addition, the flavored butters are fantastic! My family especially loves the cinnamon on toast and bagels.

The flavor itself is good, but it's not a perfect butter substitute for people who can't have dairy or lactose. Some other brands I've tried hold up more like butter than this. However, if you are used to margarine, this is a good dairy-free alternative. It has more of a margarine consistency and characteristics. Easy to melt and use in recipes that require melted butter.

I have used it to bake with in replace of butter and have enjoyed how my cookies have been coming out. It is so easy to get out of the container and you dont have to let it soften to be able to use it right away. I do enjoy using this product also on my english muffins and bagels in the morning for breakfast. It works great in mashed potatoes too! It's a great choice if you arent wanting to use butter.

I think it is a matter of preference to what you think is best and taste best. I think the organic butter tastes better in my opinion. I don't use a lot of butter in my everyday life beside buttering my son's toast and he likes the organic butter.
