Blah!

I have used this brand for over 20 years and have loved it until now. The taste is just awful. At first, I was very excited about the change of shape of the container and bought several tubs - much to my dismay. Stating it's "Original" on the front is incredibly misleading and unbecoming for your company. Not only is the taste awful, the aftertaste and film it leaves behind is incredibly nasty.

We always have your family’s best interest in mind, which is what inspired our new, simpler recipe made with no artificial preservatives or flavors. We’re sad to hear you’re disappointed.

Great Flavor, Never A Letdown!

As a girl growing up in the south, country crock was a must have in the refrigerator! We used it too cook EVERYTHING. The creaminess made it so easy to spread on toast, pancakes and waffles, or to make the perfect grilled cheese! The rich bold flavor is something that you just can't match. After growing up, getting married and moving away, I strayed from Country Crock for a while but was recently given the chance to try it again for free. Man am I glad I did, I forgot what I was missing out on!

Decent for a Spread

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Country Crock Original is a great consistency to spread on your favorite muffins, bagels, or toast. You can use it as a replacement for high-fat butter in meals or sides. I think the taste is very decent. However, it is a bit oily.

Country Crock Original

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] From refrigerator to bread roll, this product spreads easily and has a creamy buttery flavor that even the pickiest of critics in my household enjoyed. I received this product to review and as a mother was pleased with the lack of artificial flavors/preservatives.

Great Spread

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I received this in my Influenster VoxBox, and it is a great replacement for butter I love how soft, creamy, and spreadable it is and still has managed to get that butter taste. I'm definitely going to be using this product regularly in my kitchen.

Great Taste

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I got to try a free container of Country Crock Original as part of an Influenser campaign and it was delicious. The price I also saw made me want to buy it again, but the only thing stopping me from using it all the time is that I usually like lighter spreads but this is perfect as a bread topping or in cookies when you want to use those extra calories for taste. I am excited to try more products.

Country Crock Original

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Honestly, country Crock Original has been my families choice for butter for as long as I can remember. I love the creamy taste and the fact that is is so spreadable right from the fridge. It is great for baking, frying, toast, anything really.

Infinitely Spreadable and Rich

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We've switched butter spreads a few times in the last 5-10 years, constantly looking for a better option than the one before it. And yet, each product didn't quite give us what we wanted - they were too oily, not flavorful enough, not easy to spread. Lately we'd been using straight normal butter, which is a real pain to spread without a lot of heat. Which is frustrating when you're trying to make something like grilled cheese. So when I got a chance to do a consumer test on Country Crock I thought this would be interesting. Because you see, that was our butter spread for years. And I genuinely can't remember why we switched off of it. But while we'll use up what's still in the fridge of another brand, we are now going back to Country Crock permanently. Because spreadability matters! We also don't use a ton of spread butter in the house - one tub can last us a few months sometimes - but the main thing it gets used for, is our "evening breakfasts." Every few weeks, my sister and I descend upon the kitchen and perform our little choreographed dance - her making french toast using the Griddler on the counter, and me making eggs on the stove barely a foot away, while I'm simultaneously nuking precooked bacon and sausage and setting the table with salt, butter the various syrups - lite maple for our mom, normal maple for sis and my grown son, and strawberry for me and sis' toddler. It's a lot of work and effort in our little kitchen, to make full breakfast for 5 people, but it's worth it - and it's the only meal both boys never turn down. So yesterday we had an evening breakfast, and broke out the new container of Country Crock. Obviously sis and I are the last to sit, with our plates. I went to gouge out a chunk of butter, and it nearly flew off the knife it was so soft and smooth. And everyone already the table was like, "Yep, check that out." It's like night and day, trying to spread the Country Crock, compared to the other butter spreads we've used. When I think of all the time I spent trying to spread normal butter onto untoasted bread, and trying new butters, I'm now annoyed to realize I should've stuck with what worked. And there's no sacrifice in taste or quality, to get something so easily spreadable. Country Crock has a great creamy and rich flavor, the ingredients list isn't scary, and it melts well. Country Crock will once again be our family's spread, by consensus, and I don't see us straying from it again. Note: As mentioned previously, I was given a free sample of this product, in exchange for my honest review. But not only is my review genuine, this free sample was one fortuitous circumstance. :)

Terrible Change

The first time I bought this new recipe, I thought I just got a bad one. But then upon getting a fresh container I realized that it was the recipe. My kids took one taste, before I even told them about the change, and they asked me what was wrong with the butter. They hate it and asked me if I would buy something else. We went ahead and finished the container, because I don't like to waste food or money. I used it in things where other ingredients would cover up the flavor more. So sorry to have to leave Country Crock after using the butter for about 20 years but it just tastes like a bunch of chemicals to us. Funny that you say it's made without added chemicals or preservatives, etc. Because it tastes like you added about twenty more.
