It has a smooth and creamy texture, which makes it great for spreading on toast. It works well for baking when a recipe calls for margarine, and for topping potatoes, vegetables, pancakes, etc. This is a product we always have in the fridge and will continue to do so. Country Crock had a consistently good product with quality you can count on.

And just add a little garlic powder for garlic toast to eat with pasta, and on the pasta. Like I said great stuff!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I was able to find Country Crock Original very easily in my local store. I made cookies using it. The cookies turned out golden and pretty. They had a nice rich butter taste to them. I love the sweet rich taste. It's not margarine or lard tasting at all. The butter was nice and fresh looking and super easy to get off the spoon and spread around in my cookie mix. The butter blended in and I had it all mixed in no time. i didn't have to wait on it to warm up before adding to my mix long at all. My son tried it straight out of the fridge on a piece of toast and it spread perfectly. I am very happy with Country Crock Original and will continue to use it.

I grew up on this stuff and though I always enjoyed the taste and loved the spread ability, I decided it was healthier to use real butter when I grew up. I like the ingredients and flavor in the Land O Lakes best but it can be a bit pricey. The Winco brand flavor will also work if I’m doing a lot of baking and is cheaper. Land O Lakes® Salted Butter
