I have used Country Crock Original as a substitute for real butter in cookies and the final product came out well. My favorite thing to use Country Crock Original on is toast. Very satisfying!

I'm happy to report it has the same creamy texture and rich flavor that I remember from my childhood and it's still gloriously spreadable, even straight from the fridge. The resealable tub is a nice perk, keeping the butter fresh and safe from the rest of my fridge contents. Taste-wise, this is very similar to real butter, but it's better for you. What? You have changed the taste. It is so unfortunate you have done this. I am sure you will see a decrease in your sales. I hope you will bring back the original taste soon. If not. Thank you for the many years prior that I have enjoyed your product. The new version does leave a terrible after taste in your mouth.

My choice for a soft butter spread has been the same for over 20 years. I was provided this sample of Country Crock to try. This is my new favorite and I will be changing my purchase from now on. This has a buttery taste. I believe it is more flavorful than my previous choice. I used this Country Crock on my baked potatoes and was so impressed with the flavor it added to the potato. I think that I was able to use less salt because the Country Crock added more flavor.

Secondly, I will be purchasing this butter from now on. The flavor was delicious, it was easy to spread on bread, easy to measure and use for recipes, melt for baking, etc. A must have in my kitchen from now on!

It was a nice spreadable product, but had more of a buttery consistency, which I liked. Everything I've used it with has tasted good and it even made the cookies moist, which I was suspended about as this is the first time I haven't used butter! I'm glad I gave the product a shot as I am already a country crock fan.

I agree with the majority of other commenters that both the new packaging and the new recipe are a major disappointment. I could live with the packaging, but the new taste is just really, really bad. I work in manufacturing, so I understand making changes to reduce costs, but you're seriously going to lose a lot of customers with this, and the ones you pick up for the "healthier" recipe are not going to be enough to replace them. Please learn from the Coke people and go back to your apparently more complicated recipe. Then maybe we can all remember "New Country Crock" as just the terrible nightmare it was.

The worst improvement ever. The new simple recipe taste horrible! I have been eating Country Crock Original since I was a child and never thought I would have to change brands. But now that they changed the taste I have no choice. Hopefully they realize there mistake and change back to the original.
