I assumed correctly. It is fine if there is no real butter, but there is a "fake" taste that goes along with it.

I have been using it for several years now and it has never failed me from grilled cheese, to dessert baking, buttered pasta, and everything else in between. It melts well, has a rich buttery taste, and does not have any funky aftertaste

OMG!!! What have you done? You've taken what was undeniably the best butter flavored spread in the country and turned it into absolute GARBAGE! WHY? It should be rated 0 stars. The smell is like some household cleaning product and the taste is atrocious. The only good part of this "new" product is the packaging.

I received the Country Crock Original spread complimentary from @influenster for testing purposes and my honest review. I've always loved Country Crock, but usually opted for the lighter versions. This one is just as tasty. I love how easily spreadable it is, and it's great to cook with or just put on toast. I definitely recommend.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This butter is amazing! my family hates "fake" butter, and margarine type spreadable butters. This Original Country crock, has no after taste, no texture after you eat it as if you swallowed a gallon of oil and has the freshest amazing flavor i've had since making my own butter a few times. Fresh on a baked potato, corn or even used in cooking, it uses just like regular stick butter but is spread easily and ready to use right out of the fridge.. no waiting! I love it. My husband is a die hard "real" butter fan, and this is the only stuff i've gotten him to enjoy without fuss! Love it!

Country Crock hits both of those desires. I can't always buy Country Crock, but when I did this time it was absolutely worth it. I may consider adding it to my shopping list again!
