We've been buying this bread for months, use it for sandwiches, snacking, soups, whatever. It previously was sold in a clear, plastic bag. Now, it is being sold at my local Sam's in a brown paper bag, and the bread is rock hard. If I cut off a part one night, try to close the bag up tightly, and come back the next day, it's incredibly hard and even hard to cut through. This was never an issue with the old packaging :(

This is my favorite sourdough bread! It's delicious but the new packaging is horrible!! Please go back to the old plastic bags. These half plastic and half paper bags let in way too much air and the bread starts to go stale quickly! Even when you pick it up at the store now, you can feel the outside getting hard as a rock. Also, now every time I use scan and go I have to be stopped to have them scan it because the camera doesn't recognize the bread inside this new packaging. Very frustrating.

I've always loved the bread. they have recently changed the packaging and mine was hard as a brick. I've tried the bread twice since they've changed the packaging and it's been horrible both times. I had to saw at it with a lot of pressure to get through it!

The bread is great! BUT IT'S BETTER SLICED! unless you have a large bread knife and can make uniform slices you'll be lucky to get through the upper crust without tearing the bread underneath. the sliced has been out of stock forever 😞 and the unsliced never

This is the worst sourdough bread I've ever had. The outside is not crusty, it is actually tough and chewy, well, it's hard to even chew actually. And, as far as the taste, it has the weirdest sourdough taste I've ever tasted. I won't be purchasing it again.

We used to love getting this bread and bought several loaves every time we went to Sam's. They have changed the packaging and the bread is rock hard shortly after buying. It doesn't even taste right anymore and it barely lasts a few days. It's terrible. Please bring back the old packaging. The new one does not keep it fresh. We had to give the rest to our dog and she treated it like a bone.

I wanted the sliced bread, but they were out. I thought I could slice this…WRONG! I used a bread knife, 4 other types with NO diggers. I ended up opening my new electric knife. Nope! I had to try to rip through the crust to then use the electric knife. Bottom line, I ended up with a bunch of dry bread crumbs, a mess, and obtained 3 slices…that are falling apart!

I used to really like this sourdough bread and bought it very frequently. But I just purchased some this past week and it was hard as a rock because now you put it in some kind of paper bag and it must've really dried the bread out. I could hardly slice it. It was so hard and the taste quality went downhill as well. Is it no longer made in the store? Why the change and taste and quality?

This was some of the best sourdough bread I’ve had…and at an amazing price. The loaf is huge! I cut it in half and froze one half. I love it just lightly toasted and spread with butter. Yum! But is also delicious with a basil dipping oil. I just half to be cautious with my serving size because it’s that darn good!

Normally I would rate this 5 stars. it is delicious and I buy it regularly. Unfortunately, this time it was in new packaging. no longer in a plastic bag. By the time I got around to slicing it, it was hard as a rock and could not be sliced. What a waste of good bread!! PLEASE bring back the original plastic bag packaging!!
