Summer staple for my Big Green Egg

These Boston Butts are a staple on my summer menu. 2 pork shoulders come in each package and I have also had great luck and no issues with the quality of the meat. The price is great and you can easily feed a small army!

Really Good

Used for an amazing irish stew, flavorful, tender. Can't say it was easy to cut into stew pieces, but so worth it. Stew had guniess beer in it, ohhhh so good!!

Quality has gone down significantly

The quality of the Member's Mark port butts have gone down significantly over the last year. The last one was over 50% fat after trimming. I won't purchase at Sam's again.

Charcoal Grilled

I grill one of these (7-10 pounds) on a Weber grill with charcoal, offsetting the roast away from the charcoal. It takes about 3 hours, but these roasts have our friends clamoring to come over when we cook 'em. Very good meat.

Steaming Stew

This is the article***** for crock pot slow cooked stew. Carrots potatoes onion & the rest of the refrigerator & spice shelf, how 'you' like it. Skim the fat from the top if you want it leaner.

Pork Butt for Sausage Making

Keep in mind, that if you use Sam's Club Pork Butt for various Sausage-Making, once you debone and trim off the obvious exterior fat (no less the large internal pockets of fat), you will be left with around 80% finished product? At $1.68/pound purchase price, that comes out to about $2.15/pound clean product. This may not sound like a big difference, if you buy a pack of 2 butts or 14 pounds, but when you buy 100 pounds of butt, you'll only end up with about 80 pounds of finished product? Dear Sam's Club....my suggestion is to either reduce your pricing, or provide boneless pork Butt at the same price?

Bone, Gristle and Lots of Fat

I bought a single Boston Butt last week and was very disappointed after cooking it today. It is 65% bone, blubber, and gristle. I pulled what little good pork there was from the bone and will save it for barbecue sandwiches. Definitely my one and only purchase of this product. A waste of time and money and a very disappointing supper.

Great Quality

I get these routinely at Sam’s to use on my smoker. Hands down some of the best quality pork I’ve bought & smoked!
