It is microwave safe with it's special flaps on the top, allowing you to microwave your food directly in the container, without anything splattering. The special suction on the top allows food to stay fresh because of the seal. It is dishwasher safe and doesn't stain. My only qualm is that it's not glass :)

Bought it last week coz it looked cool and reviews were good. I dont trust any plastic lids so I always use plastic wrap(heat food for about 1-3 min in the microwave). The container walls melted the plastic wrap and now i have plastic wrap stuck the sides and parts of the insides. I never heard of any container being able to melt/bond with plastic wrap. Nowhere on the package does it say do not use with plastic wrap but it does say it on the pdf file at the 8th bullet point on the use and care instructions. Imagine that. You have to go online to figure out how to safely use a container.

The durability of these products is amazing, there stay looking new without scratches and food stains like some other plastic food storage containers. Usually when I pack my salads I use about 10 different containers or baggies, which is a waste and lots of cleaning. I also love that this container is leak-proof - and I put it to the test. And the fact that it doesn't stain and is dishwasher, microwave, and freezer safe - icing on the cake! Unfortunately for me, the container is an awkward shape and size for my lunch bag, so at home it shall stay.

Lids are cracking. I purchased the medium, small, and sugar containers. Rubbermaid replaced the lid of medium container once. Recently, I bought more containers to give them another try, and I also intended to give some as gifts. However, the small 1.3-cup container developed ridges and its lid as well as medium size cracked. I'm not sure if the containers I gave as gifts also cracked. I'm very frustrated because I was hoping these would be durable storage containers for the long term. The manufacturer has been aware of this issue for years, yet they continue to sell poor-quality products to unsuspecting consumers. It seems that Rubbermaid is making a significant profit, with no incentive to provide customers with a reliable product.

I also use the flaps to let the content cool down while in the fridge instead of leaving the fodd on the counter to cool down. I used it with pasta sauce and there were no staining of tomatoe inside the container or the lid. It is also make of more sturdy material. Well worth the purchase.

I like how they have two separate areas. They are large areas too. My favorite feature is the lids. They form a seal around the entire container. This ensures freshness for the week of prep. The containers are super thick and high quality. They fit perfectly in my husbands lunch box and I’m able to prep his entire week on a Sunday. I would definitely recommend these.

My father has a condition that makes it difficult to hold things so if he drops this or it slips on the counter ...no mess. Yet this is easy to open even my mom with arthritis can use it with ease. The container is dishwasher safe so easy to clean and can go in the microwave another win win . You can bet I'm getting a whole set.
