Little did I know, I couldn't install the streaming app for my streaming provider. After i purchased this Visio "smart" tv, I had to buy a Fire Stick, so I could watch my TV. Oh yeah, did I mention, Visio wanted me to pay $79 to "activate" my new tv. If was easier to take it back off the wall, it would have gone back. I'll never buy anything but Sony again, I regret wanting to go bigger!!!

Please read! Horrible interface with constant ads!

Let me start by staying this tv has a pretty great picture, but the interface is not good at all. When you first buy the tv it will ask you to setup it up like normal, but when you get to the final screen it prompts you to accept the terms and conditions of the television. If you accept you basically allowing the tv to show you constant ads any time the tv goes into rest mode which is quite often it will show nothing but random ads! But I know what you are saying don’t accept the terms and conditions and buy a separate streaming device for the tv. Well I did I reset the tv to factory and did not accept them but if you don’t accept the terms and conditions the tv will freeze on start up and not let you access anything on it. The screen will show “please connect a device” you will either have to switch the input or unplug the tv completely for the tv to come back. This is a horrible tv please don’t buy unless you want to be frustrated just get a tv with google interface because this tv is not good at all! You will be disappointed!

I like everything except the smart hub. In my case I have a streaming device and use an HDMI splitter and amplifier to distribute the same signal from a closet to each room using 50' HDMI cables. The visio would not reliably detect the signal that 4 otber TV's would. I had to use a local spare streaming device connected directly to the TV. I've read reviews and this seems common, great picture and sound, but a flaky smart hub. I tested the splitter and amplifier and no problems,I connected a Samsung smart TV and the signal was fibe so I assume the HDMI cable is good as well, which only leaves the smart hub and other reviews. Still, its a really good value and once I was able to connect my device it's been flawless with respect to operation.

Practically useless

This tv has been the worst I've ever owned. 99% of the time when I turn it on it just shows a blank screen or ads in the top right half of the screen and no matter what button I click it wont do anything so I have to unplug it and plug it back in everytime i want to use it. Horrible value for the money.

Overall a good tv for the price. This is the third Vizio TV that I have purchased. The first one is in my bedroom. The picture quality of the new Vizio looks the same as the old Vizio. I was expecting it to look a lot better. I haven’t used all of the features yet(such as headphones) but everything else seems to function properly.

We were impressed with the brightness and picture quality. The menu was not easy to understand. It took some time to learn. After about 3 weeks, we started getting vertical colored lines across the screen. It takes multiple attempts to restart before it starts operating normally. The more we use it, the more it's happening. I believe will try to return this asap. Sams is now clearing them. They must know something.

I can’t get over how great the picture quality is! The price was perfect! This is the best tv we have purchased this far. After getting it home and hooking it up (within seconds, I might add), we immediately decided to purchase the Vizio Soundbar. It was the perfect combo and the sound quality matches the picture quality! There is an option in the audio settings that lets you limit the background “fan noise” when watching sporting events… I have one word: WOW!! What a difference that made for some of the sports we watch (and we watch ALL sports non-stop). We couldn’t believe how crystal clear you could hear the sound of a bat hitting the baseball, without hearing all of the hecklers behind the plate! Amazing TV!

I do not like that I'm unable to download my streaming app service to get local channels. According to the information in my research after I purchase the TV I had to buy a separate antenna to get local channels. I purchased the one that was highly recommended but the channels are sporadic depending on where I place the antenna. I think the TV should allow an app store like the older ones do.

Enough value for a budget, but not a homerun

Pros: relatively affordable, casting, near zero bezel Cons: More cons than pros - in the end they are a wash for 3 stars. The most annoying con is the remote response time - the delay makes using the remote very frustrating. Sure, there is an app, but without tactile feel you have to put your head down and then look up with each tap. I believe this lag is due to cheap internal parts as my 13-year-old Vizio is normal and many people do rant about this issue for this TV, so beware. I decided quickly that it needs the sound bar with subwoofer (2.1), which is easy to install and problem solved. You cannot sideload any apps (in the Vizio world) so I use a 4K box. I have had sporadic network connectivity issues from day 1 that cause the TV to freeze and requires a hard power/plug reset. It hasn't happened since I set it to a static IP address, but this is a nasty issue that may be a warranty deal if it starts to occur again.
