super easy to use. It is a little hard to open at first but then within a day or to it gets easier because you become used to it. I love how sturdy it is. It can survive a shaking. It is short enough to step over if you are confident enough. I am 5'4". I have a 2 year old that stays in the living room area.

Well made and sturdy. This gate was easy to install, and the four positioning screws allow it to be mounted with varying widths; that is, the lower and upper screws can be adjusted to fit exactly, without having to use hardware. The latch on the gate was a bit difficult at first, and requires some hand strength, but nothing an adult cannot handle, but a child of eight to 12 or so would find the latch difficult. The only problem with this gate is that my two puppies are quite small (adult size will be 10 lbs.), and they were able to walk right through the bars! We were disappointed, but had to return it for this reason only. Anyone with a larger dog will find this gate very useful. One suggestion for the manufacturer is to include a small door in the gate for another pet, such as a cat, to use; other gates have this feature.

For the price I thought this would be better. I actually prefer the regalo gate - it also swings in both directions and and is easier to open and close. I bought both and wish I had had bought 2 of the regalo instead. That said. There is nothing wrong with the safety first gate. Just for the price you are not getting anything better.

I love the idea of this gate, but no matter how hard I tried, I could not get this gate to lock. I tightened it as far as it would go, so much so that it started to dent my wall. And it still wouldn't lock! But let's go back to the beginning. I knew I needed to add one extender due to the opening of my hallway. It was exceptionally hard to pull the plugs out, even with the suggestion on the instructions. Then they were so loose once they came out but they kept falling out when I tried to put it up. Now, perhaps it's the difference between the molding and the wall and that's why it's not wanting to secure itself. But generally speaking when you use a baby gate it's going to be where there is baseboards on the bottom and wall on the top connectors. So it should be able to account for that. Definitely would not recommend.

The latch mechanism broke. Its past the one-year warranty, which I don't feel is good enough (who wants to replace a baby gate every year?) I took the four screws out of the latch and saw a tennie tiny gray plastic thing about the width of a pencil lead that broke off from its spot. Then figured that has what stopped the gate from working. And now I'll have to look for another but not one that is put together with tiny little plastic holders.

Overall this took 20 something minutes to put together. Was fairly straightforward instructions except one part confused me a little bit. I overall am pleased with it. It feels pretty strong along the wall. My 11 month old has already tried pulling on it and it didn't budge. The gate works so much better than what we were using to keep him out of the hallway.

We love these gates for our house. They were super easy to install and they stay put even with a toddler pulling on them. They are easy for the parents to open and close. My toddler has figured out how to close them by just pulling the gate closed hard. But, cannot get it open again. So that's a good thing! Overall, these gates work extremely well for my family and last a long while.

The extenders made it too wide to fit in the door space, and without them the screws were hardly long enough that any pressure at all would pull it right off the wall. With some extra tools I was able to get it sturdy enough, but it wouldn't be safe at all using only what came with it. I think a simpler design would be far more effective. Gave it 2 stars because I got it to be mostly functional.

Excellent gate! Very pleased with the quality and sturdiness. Stays tight in the doorway without marking! The only thing that was difficult is that removing the tabs at the ends before adding extenders was not explained properly at all. Took me time to figure out the diagram which didn’t include this info.

This easy install walk through gate does exactly what it's meant to. It's extremely lightweight and easy to install (if you actually read the instructions, something my husband doesn't do). A simple click and pull with your forefinger and thumb opens the gate but you do have to get used to the movement. Green shows it's locked and secure while red shows that it's open. My daughter isn't a fan but we love that we've found a gate that keeps her safe and secure.
