Living on an acreage, we wanted a large portable generator to power everything. We purchased a Westinghouse WG 20000 and it arrived yesterday. First impressions were favourable. Although it isn't hooked up yet, we took it for a test drive to check the starting procedures, and to ensure it was getting fuel. Everything worked great. I'm sure it will work perfectly in an emergency in case of a power outage.

we got this as emergency power to run the whole house and after testing it out today i dont think that will be an issue at all. i love the push button start and how well the engine ran starting up on the first push after adding fuel annd oil. also lobe that this generator comes with everything you need to get it up and running as soon as it arrives and you dont even need any tools for assembly other than an 8mm wrench. comes with an included battery tender that plugs directly into the faceplate which is also a huge plus and much safer than using alligator clips directly on the battery terminals. all in all i think it's well worth the prise if you want a aqality package and no headaches.

Purchased because of multiple storms leading to power outages recently. Works great to provide power to needed household appliances in those cases. Also great for using around the farm in places where there is no power. No issues so far, happy with my purchase.

I live in Southeast Texas so dealing with hurricanes is something that folks around here just learn to do. I've had a 5500 watt generator for years, that worked just fine in a pinch to run fridges and freezers, a few lights and a window unit, but with that came extension cords ran throughout the house and only one room that was comfortable. After the derecho winds that hit us this year and then Hurricane Beryl, each causing power outages that lasted a week, I was fed up with dragging extension cords and having to choose what was going to be powered and what wasn't. I really wanted the 20 kw tri-fuel but since they are still not available, I opted for the 14.5 kw Westinghouse. Ordered it in September and got the good news last week that it was being shipped, got it this morning, 11/1/24, put the tires on, added oil, hooked up the natural gas hose and let her rip. Ran it in for about an hour with no load. I had previously wired in two breakers (50 and 30 amp) to feed the breaker panel. Shut off the incoming power from the lines and connected the cords. Had also previously installed a soft starter on my 5 ton HVAC unit. That piece alone dropped my LRA on the compressor from 107 amps to about 29 amps during startup. Normal running amps is around 7. Anyway, I was able to power the entire house including AC and pool pump. The only item I didn't try was the electric dryer. Worse case, I'll just make sure the pool pump is off before running the dryer. All-in-all, very pleased with my purchase. With my luck, I'll never lose power again but am ready if I do. This was the biggest CARB compliant generator we could find. We needed it to be able to power our home during the predicted PG&E power outages during fire season. This generator will allow us to run the AC as well as all the other necessary appliances.

Bought this bad boy because it's supposed to be able to run my entire house. Being a Louisiana resident during hurricane season, who could ask for anything more. If lights go out or god forbid one comes our way, I'll be sure to come back and give a review that I can 100% stand behind.

After review of past recommendations, I bought this machine to power our house during any power outages. I pulled the plug on the house and this machine powered the entire house including 2 refrigerators, multiple overhead fans, and 3 computers. So far, so good. Thanks.

This is the third WGen generator I have purchased. I love the fit and finish and the WGen20000c seems to be the best so far. Unfortunately, during my first use of the generator there was a transient power draw somewhere inside the generator which took it down. I am hopeful that Westinghouse can make this good and I can upgrade my overall rating!

My model is the WGen9500DF could not find it on the selection list. I tested the unit after setting it up, on propane it started instantly ran real smooth and stands ready to supply my house as a back up generator. Thank you Westinghouse nice job!!

I have been looking for a generator to use during power outages, which is likely anytime in the state of Florida. After much research I choose the WGEN12000 because it is powerful enough to run my entire home. It has a starting power of 15000KV and it purrs like a kitten at 12000KV there after. It is so easy to start and for such a large generator it is surprisingly not too loud. So glad that I choose Westighouse...it is a name that I have trusted for years!
