I have been looking for a generator to use during power outages, which is likely anytime in the state of Florida. After much research I choose the WGEN12000 because it is powerful enough to run my entire home. It has a starting power of 15000KV and it purrs like a kitten at 12000KV there after. It is so easy to start and for such a large generator it is surprisingly not too loud. So glad that I choose Westighouse...it is a name that I have trusted for years!

This was the biggest CARB compliant generator we could find. We needed it to be able to power our home during the predicted PG&E power outages during fire season. This generator will allow us to run the AC as well as all the other necessary appliances.

This generator is a beast with the power to sustain my home during major power outage. The unit is able to run a 4 ton ac and hot water tank at the same time. This equates to 7500 watts with both running. Plenty power left for fridge and other minor house appliance. My ac does have the soft start by hyper engineering. The generator is well built. Two issues I did encounter is when I un-packaged the unit the carbon canister was detached from the bracket. Might of sustained rough transportation. The gas thank flange on the left side was slightly bent. You can tell because the bolt holding the tank same location as canister is bent. Gas not leaking and tank appears to be intact. Another minor annoyance is I cant get the generator out of my rear garage door. It is a standard door. I have to remove the door to get the unit out. If the door opened all the way it would be a tight fit. My door opens at 90 degree angle before hitting the wall. With door removed I have maybe 1/8 inch on each side of the wheels before it hits the door jamb. Did find a black screw in the bottom of the pallet and could not figure out where it came from. The screw is the same as the ones that hold exhaust heat shield together. Maybe accidentally left in the box during packing.

I brought this generator after the devastating effects of Hurricane Beryl. After not having power for a week and food gas and amenities were scarce, I took a leap to buy this generator. And what a difference it made. I try to do preventive maintenance at least once a month to make it stay in shape. I do not regret purchasing this generator.

Our generator arrived on week 3 no power. We are now into week 4 & can charge our phones without letting the car run, we not only have water, but hot water, & toilet flushing without hauling water. Today we are going to work on what part of our home we need to energize to get our directv and Starlink up and running, oh and I ran the dishwasher! Little things we took for granted. Great product, I would recommend. For reference, our home is ~4K sq ft, our hot water heater is 70 gallon geothermal/electric, which heated fully in half an hour. We have 100% LED light bulbs, & 2 electric heat pumps that we have not yet used. We are leaving our full size freezer off for the time being, but our refrigerator/freezer is now cold, we may stock a few items. We have an electric range, but will continue to use propane grill and camp wood stove. To us newbies it's a learning process, but again, we are very happy with our purchase.

This generator has plenty of power for a single phase unit. It has plethora of Plugs that cover most of your possible 120/240 volt needs. All breakers are toggle breakers except for the 2 breakers for the 4 gfci circuits they are push to reset. Not a light weight unit at a little over 500 pounds. 2 guys to ramp it into the back of a pickup.

We bought this generator for my parent's property, it's on a mountain and they have bad thunderstorms and snow. My Dad thought that it was going to be the old school break your back to start. Boy he was excited when we showed him how easy it is to start, very impressed by what all it can run! I would give it 10 stars just for the peace of mind that we have for my parent's comfort and well-being!

This machine is a monster, and I can't wait to use it. It is heavy, but with the oversized wheels I am able to move it with ease. I live in Georgia, and we have bad weather regularly. Now i look forward to the bad weather knowing that I will not be without power.

Just unboxed and fired up for the first time. Unit arrived well-packaged and fired up instantly. Only two small complaints so far. First, the finish on the hoist bar, that attaches to the top of the frame, was scuffed. Second, the oil dipstick is in a tough spot and too flexible. It is difficult to put back and place and make sure it is fully seated. One improvement that was apparently made is you can hook up the battery ground without removing the battery retaining strap. The instructions advised you need to remove the strap in order to connect the terminal. As long as it holds up, I would 100% purchase again.

I just took delivery of my WGen12000 generator today (7/31/20) and unpacked and assembled. Good instructions for straight forward unpacking and assembly. Great user manual/diagrams. User friendly layout of instrumentation panel. I am a little concerned about the robustness of the oil dipstick. I found inserting fully after checking oil level a challenge and not sure how long the plastic around the dip stick and the wire rod is going to holdup. I plan to order an extra dipstick immediately. for backup, otherwise I believe the WGen12000 to be 5 star! I have not started/powered yet. I will update this posting following placing the generator into service.
