SIMPLE ASSEMBLY. REMOTE FEATURE IS IDEAL

After simple assembly; tires, lift bar, and attaching the battery, it started right up. I recommend High Octane gas (93 or above). Ensure you read the instructions, step by step. Oil is provided. It is very heavy. However, the trailer arms make it so much easier to move. :-). My first Westinghouse generator. I am completing a whole home load test (1800 square feet) it should do fine. Remote starter is very convenient, and starts the generator from a good distance.

Westinghouse WGen14500TFc is the best in its class

*The Positive: Power and Performance: 13,500 peak watts, 10,500 running watts (propane), are powerful enough to run my entire 3300 sq ft home(built in 2023), including central A/C units and multiple appliances simultaneously. -Ease of Use & Setup: The setup process is described as straightforward, and features like the electric start, remote start key fob, and push-button operation are highly appreciated for convenience, especially during bad weather. Total time: 45 minutes. -Fuel Versatility: The tri-fuel (gasoline, propane, and natural gas) options are major highlights, offering flexibility and reliability when one fuel source might be scarce. Mine runs ONLY on propane: 3 sets of 100L tanks- my choice. -Quality Build: well-built, rugged, and durable, with solid construction designed to last. -Low THD: This specific model offers low Total Harmonic Distortion (THD) (<5%), making it safe for sensitive electronics like laptops and cell phones. *Some Critical Issues: -Noise Level: It's loud when running(depending on where you locate it), which is a concern for nighttime operation or proximity to neighbors. I used the Generator Exhaust Extension Silencer Kit(Amazon) with Insulated Through-Wall Mounting Plate, and solved the noise and CO problem. -Weight/Mobility: The units are heavy (around 348 lbs), so while they have wheels and handles for portability, moving them requires effort. -Minor Component Issues: a sensitive CO sensor that causes the unit to shut off, quick-connect fittings, and other accessories are available to buy if needed. *Overall, after 1 year of use in Florida, I am extremely satisfied with this purchase, considering the generator a great value for the money and a reliable investment for home power backup during hurricane season outages.

A great generator - a serious piece of hardware

I just purchased this for home backup and shop use and have only run it a little. My plan is to connect it to the house natural gas and use that as much as possible. This thing will easily run everything in the house, even though it has to be derated due to the altitude. It seems very well built and uses quality components. I like the paint finish too, nicely done. It is very convenient that they included the oil and the battery with the unit, which makes it possible to complete the setup and get it running as soon as it arrives.

Great so far!

I had been looking for a powerful generator for a while. We had lost power for a day and a half not too long ago due to a tornado. After that a sub station close to the house had to be shut down due to it causing a grass fire. My wife and I were ready to get a generator. I had looked for a while and the reviews on this one were great. I'll try to let you all know the more I use it.. hopefully I'll never have to!

This Generator Far Exceeded My Expectations!

I live in a luxury RV in the FL Panhandle and I wanted a generator that could handle 3 air conditioners, washer/dryer, refrigerator, and everything else in the event of a power outage. The dual fuel provides an excellent option in case gasoline becomes scarce. We thing we are now prepared for any electrical outage. Excellent product! Thank you!

Great so far

I bought the WGen14500TFc last year. It runs like a champ and it easily powers my entire home except for central heat/air. I don't know that it wouldn't also handle the HVAC but I may consider adding a soft start before I try. It is a little noisy but I knew that going in and it is a fine tradeoff to have this level of backup power at a good price point. Right now my only recommendation to improve the generator would be for it to come with a magnetic oil drain plug.

Ready for the Florida Storms

I just received this generator. Set up was easy if you follow the manual. When adding oil make sure you do so incrementally. My unit had a little residual oil from the factory, so you likely won't need the whole quart. Pairing the remote was a breeze and start up was easy. After the break in period I will update this review. So far I am very pleased with my purchase.

Great Product!

Product was quickly delivered and packed very well. Haven't had long enough to test out so that's why I give the 4 stars and not 5. I did run for 1 hour unloaded to start the break in period and took a few remote starts to allow fuel to reach the system and then generator did run smoothly. So far so good. Time will tell!

Lots of power

Provides more than enough power for my rv. Is a bit finicky about starting. Only had for 6 weeks and had problems w the clicker and now I have to run a smaller generator to charge the battery so it will start. but I'm still getting start issues. now it says needs maintenance. Cleaned the spark arrestor and plug. Getting co2 warnings when under a roof against a wall. Not enclosed.

WGEN14500/18000, initial review

Only 3 stars at present until Westinghouse responds. And, no recommendation until Westinghouse responds. Assembly instruction are clear, and assembly and initial setup went pretty well, but there are a couple of issues. Once the wheels are on, the battery cannot be removed to connect the cables, so off came the wheel. Also, the dip stick is awkward to use because on a instruction plate above the stick's grip. Still, minor issues. I put in 5 gallons of 87 octane unleaded gas (<10% alcohol). The generator started immediately, with no issues. I let is run for an hour without any load connected. I do have a concern about the engine and generator stability. The engine RPM had a slight instability which sounded like a very, very, slight misfire, but no popping from the exhaust. Voltage and Frequency shown on the set's display was 240 +/- 1V, and 59.6 - 59.9 HZ. I did not connect it to my house, choosing to wait until the following day. Following day: The set powered up immediately, which was nice, but I noticed that the display was now showing an unstable frequency 59.3 - 59.8 HZ (why lower than yesterday?). Voltage was 240/241 V.. Stopped and restarted the set, but no difference. I had intended connecting to the house though the 50A inlet and interlock, but, before doing so, I decided to first look at the voltage waveform with an oscilloscope and meter. I was surprised to see that the intended sine wave looked more like a triangular wave. I don't know if this is the correct output from the Westinghouse generators, so I will look forward to Westinghouse's response. Attached are two video's showing the generators output vs my utility supply. For a valid comparison, the same test setup was used. Couldn't attach the videos because it seems that Westinghouse only accepts YouTube videos, so all I can show is a photo of the WGEN's output waveform.
