So far so good

This is a beast. Weighs over 500#. You're not going to casually pick it up & move it around. I bought it to run a welder through, & I'm going to have to find a plug-type converter. The welder is a 3 prong plug & the 50 amp receptacle is a 4 prong female. Seems solid and reliable, but haven't used it much yet. I have the WGen 9500 little brother & it has been great, have used it a lot.

Ready for Hurricane Season

Bought the 14500 TF a couple weeks ago. Going to have a power inlet installed so we can run the whole house. Hopefully we will only need to run it for normal maintenance and not a storm. Glad we have it just in case. This generator is well built and easy to prep.

Initial setup

Delivered without any issues. First challenge is the wheels are not already attached. They say you have to lift the 600# unit to put the wheels on. In reality the wheels went on without lifting the unit. However, to get the unit off of the crate you are supposed to have a lift. How many people have that in their garage. I was able to make a ramp with brick pavers as the wheels are outside the box to allow me to get it down without a lift. initial setup was easy and it started up easily. I have not plugged it into the transfer switch yet as I'm still in the 5 hour breakin period. However a portable AC unit keeps tripping the one of the standard household plugs even when it's the only thing plugged in and it's plugged indirectly to the generator without any extension cords. I'm checking a couple of things to see why. If that continues that would be a challenge. Electrician is coming tomorrow to swap out 30 amp boxes for 50 amp so I'll see how it works on the transfer switches and how break in goes.

Great Features

Product requires some minor assembly but very simple. Have not operated the unit yet but I like the layout of the control panel. The battery charging port is a really nice feature. The terminals on the battery need to be located on top simplify battery connections. Also a place to store the spark plug tool and oil funnel would be nice. Changing the oil looks to be a messy encounter. Maybe extending the drain beyond the frame or enlarge the hole near the drain plug.

quality and shipping execution near perfection

Westinghouse executed the design and development of this generator 100% to my expectation. Shipping was very well thought out to minimize assembly time and effort. Lifting the heavy generator out of the nest and above the wood blocks was difficult. This could be improved by attaching the vertical wood blocks with screws to make them removable. Function of the generator was perfect. Very pleased with my purchase decision.

Big Power for the money

Purpose of Purchase: Bought this generator to power my food truck during service and as a backup power source for my home during outages. Upgrade Justification: I upgraded from an 8kW generator, which required refueling during long events (e.g., 12-hour shifts). Refueling meant pausing service—even with a line of customers—just to add gas. That's no longer an issue. Performance: This generator ran for a full 12-hour period on a single tank of gas without needing a refill. That's a huge plus and a game changer for continuous service. 🔑 Key Notes & Considerations: CO2 Sensor Issue: The generator shut off three times while running in an open field. The lights indicated a CO2 sensor error. I solved this by placing a fan near it to keep air circulating—worked like a charm. Unsure why it triggered in open air, but something to watch for. Battery Management: After my first test run, I forgot to turn off the battery switch. Several hours later, I noticed a light still on. Unfortunately, the battery drained completely and now won't recharge. Major downside: If the battery dies, there's no manual recoil option to start the generator. Jumper cables from your car or a power pack will resolve this issue. ✅ Pros: Long runtime (12+ hours) on a single tank Powerful enough for food truck and emergency home use Smooth, quiet operation Moderate noise ❌ Cons: Sensitive CO2 sensor (may require extra airflow) No backup manual start option Battery can die easily if left on and won't recharge

Wgen14500TFc - Loaded with features

I bought this generator to replace my smaller one since we have a lot of power outages in the NW Houston area. First impressions is that this is a beast and I hope that I don't need it but will be glad that I have it. Got a little past half way in the break in process and will finish up next weekend and was impressed on how easy it started up and it was reasonably on the noise to my smaller generator it is replacing. I like that it has a spin on oil filter and it included a drain hose for easy oil changes. Looking forward to running it on natural gas next to see out it does. Glad I bought this over the Wgen11500TFc.

Spray Drone Generator

I bought this generator in April to set on my drone application trailer to charge batteries and run transfer pumps. Have not ran it for a full working day yet, but while getting the trailer ready and testing it, there have not been any complaints this far. Hopefully be a great generator.

Worth the money

Retired USAF guy here. 34 years working on support equipment. Knew westinghouse was a good product, but hadn't seen any in action. Little skeptical. Bought the 12k continuous/15k surge gas engine. Wired a 6 gauge circuit to the breaker box on its own 50 amp breaker. Runs the whole house. 3 br, 2 bath, 2400 Sq ft...2 fridges, 1 freezer, electric water heater and a 5 ton central unit. Thoroughly impressed. Well worth the money. Am considering upgrading to the 20K later on down the road.

So far so good

Just moved to Florida and within the first six months had multiple hurricanes come through. Bought a generator that was supposed to be able to run the necessities of my home but just didn't keep up. So I got a 14500tfg. One thing I noticed immediately when I got it unboxed was how easy it was to put together. They did a great job with packaging and getting this thing ready to go almost instantly out of the box. Looks great, hopefully I'll never have to use it but if I do, I feel like it's gonna do a good job
