TBD

Just received my WGEN14500TFc, I wanted the 20,000W but that was out of stock everywhere so very disappointed. Now Westinghouse is coarsing me to leave a review so I can receive my FREE 15' power strip “gift” so I am leaving them 3 stars. Deducting one star for not having my 20,000W model available to purchase and another star for coarsing me to leave a review to get the free 15' power strip cord. Will update review once I get my 14500 up and running AND when my free gift comes.

Power house!

Purchased the WGen 12000/15000 DF and I'm so impressed. I had an electrician install a Reliance Controls PB50 (50amp) plug to my house. Used a 50amp power cord from generator to house. This generator ran 100% everything in my house. I ran the Central A/C, ceiling fans, all lights in and out the house. TV's, microwave, wife's blow dryer, oven, furnace no problem. Didn't even bog down. I feel as though this thing had more to give than what I threw at it. I live in a 1700sf home so I hope this review can help those who are considering this unit. I highly recommend.

Spray Drone Generator

I bought this generator in April to set on my drone application trailer to charge batteries and run transfer pumps. Have not ran it for a full working day yet, but while getting the trailer ready and testing it, there have not been any complaints this far. Hopefully be a great generator.

Wgen14500TFc - Loaded with features

I bought this generator to replace my smaller one since we have a lot of power outages in the NW Houston area. First impressions is that this is a beast and I hope that I don't need it but will be glad that I have it. Got a little past half way in the break in process and will finish up next weekend and was impressed on how easy it started up and it was reasonably on the noise to my smaller generator it is replacing. I like that it has a spin on oil filter and it included a drain hose for easy oil changes. Looking forward to running it on natural gas next to see out it does. Glad I bought this over the Wgen11500TFc.

Great features just what I was looking to buy.

I bought the generator this week to replace my old one. It started right up and powered the house. Much easier to start than the old one. It was an easy set up and easy to use. Love that you can turn the battery off and on, also easy charging station. Looking forward to many years of use!

Will not start

Just took the unit out of the box and it won't start. Fully charged the battery with the trickle charger. Engine still won't turn over. Plus, it has no manual start option, so I'm dead in the water. Hope this storm doesn't cause the power to go out.

Review for WGen14500TFc Tri-Fuel First impression

I purchased this a few months back and was going to get it prepped for use if a storm was forecast for my area, but that never happened, so I still need to set it up and break it in. Everything looks heavy-duty and well-built. The only downsides I see are that it doesn't come with the required connections for natural gas, although it has everything necessary for LPG and gasoline. It also doesn't have much information in the manual about running it on Natural gas, specifically missing what gas pressure is required or range allowed, and whether a separate regulator is needed, such as the one supplied with the hose for LPG use, but for natural gas.

Very nice generator

I bought a large generator to facilitate our rental cottage. Electric start is very nice! Especially with a remote. I did not get the dual fuel model, but that is super handy to have available as well. Overall, I really like the unit. And the price was right compared to other market generators.

Solid generator, but funky natural gas connection

Generator works great. Powers the whole house, including AC, while running on natural gas. Only issue I had was connecting it to my 3/4” gas line. Apparently this now comes with a 5/8” outer diameter threaded fitting, and I had to combine a few different adapters to connect it with my gas line. Also, the manual and the listings online don't give CFH or BTU requirements for running on natural gas, but fortunately I was able to find it in the reviews. This is information that should be in the item documents

WGen14500TFc is a Beast

I bought this generator a week ago with plans to setup powering our 3000sq ft home as a whole house generator. It didn't disappoint! After several weeks of research and seeking references from those that own portable whole house generators I landed on the Westinghouse Tri Fuel 14500. I liked its flexibility of fuel sources and the setup plans I had included running off our home's natural gas meter through a quick disconnect setup. This generator comes with both a natural gas hose and a hose with regulator for using LP gas. When the generator arrived my electrician was here installing an interlock switch in my home power distribution panel and 50amp weather rated receptacle outside. I quickly assembled the wheels and rubber feet on the generator and rolled it off the pallet. I had installed the quick connect to the gas meter that morning so everything was ready to go. Before starting the generator I followed the generator manual instructions, added oil, which it comes with, and connected the battery. Next was pairing the key fob . Once I had everything ready I connected it to the natural gas fuel source and started the generator. The generator started up with no issues. As the manual instructions confirmed the generator needed to be run for 5 hours under a light load to allow for break in of critical parts before handling heavy electrical loads. The break in time completed the day. The following day I conducted a power outage simulation. I hooked up the generator to the house through the 50amp locking receptacle with 50amp 25' power cord. Fired up the generator and flipped the main breaker off on the home power distribution panel. This allowed me to slide the interlock device so I could flip on the 50 amp generator power breaker. I had also flipped off the 50,49 and 30 amp breakers. This was done to avoid placing too heavy of a load on the generator. The generator powered all of the 115 volt outlets and lights in the house with no problems. Next up was to test the generator powering our 5 ton AC with the lights and receptacles on. I flipped on the AC 50amp breaker and turned down the thermostat. The AC started and you could hear the generator grunt once and drop in running tone but know issues! The generator powered everything including the 5 ton AC unit at the same time! What a beast! Keep in mind, I did install a hard start kit on the AC before performing this test to lower the start up amp requirements from the AC compressor. I don't think the generator would have powered the 5 ton AC without this modification.
