Customer reviews for OFFLINE: Lifetime Adventure Tower Deluxe Playset forProduct Good, Assembly Terrible
We bought this product and paid for the assembly. The product was delivered and the const. company called to set up a time for assembly. They arrived @ 10 am on July 6th. Upon arriving, it seemed they had never put together a playground of this type. On several occasions, they stated that they usually erect wooden sets. I wasn't present at all times during the construction. However, I did make 4 trips to the site to see the progress. Each time I stopped by, not much progress had been made and at one time, I was asked if I had tools for them to use. At 5pm, they had just tightened around 20 bolts on the tower portion. On July 11th, they returned to finish the project. I was @ work and was not present at all this day. When I had an opportunity to inspect the playground, I found parts incorrectly installed, bolts not secured fully, tower panels in the incorrect location, missing bolts, and damaged plastic. I have attached pictures showing the aforementioned items. My mom had to sign off on the construction since I was away for work. If I could have been there, I would have definitely not signed off on this for approval. If you purchase this set, do yourself a favor and take the time to erect it yourself.

Your kids will love it.
This playset is awesome! We surprised our kids with it for Christmas and they LOVE it! I had been watching this playset for some time and was able to get a great Cyber Monday deal on it here at Sam's. I opted for this over a wooden one because I have a neighbor with a wooden one that has deteriorated quite a bit over the course of 4 years. I also wanted monkey bars for the kids upper body strength. It is solid. I'm quite confident that it will last for many years. It was delivered by ABF in a 8' x 4' x 4' crate that weighs 780 lbs. I included a picture of it. Your first job will be dismantling the crate and figuring out what to do with the wood. It took my father and I about 11 hours over 2 days to put it together. My 2 cents are as follows. While you are waiting for it to ship, go to the Lifetime website, download the instructions and study them. It helps to have a very good idea of how the project is supposed to go. Get a tool belt. I got a $20 one at the hardware store. It had three sections on the belt. Two of them I used for tools and one I moved in front of me to hold the screws, bolts, etc in. I would look at the instructions, grab all of the materials that I needed and put it in the belt pocket. I know I saved a lot of time just having everything that I needed on me. Have a table close by to lay out all of the parts packages. The drill is a must. (Self tapping screws, holes in the plastic, etc) Get a 3/16" hex bit for your drill. It will save you a ton of time rather than using only the 2 provided hex wrenches. If you are not careful, you can over-tighten the screws and warp the poles so don't think that you are going to turn the screws until they won't turn any more. Use your judgement. When you have one of the screws in the pole and are trying to line it up with the hole on the other side, put a hex wrench in it to maneuver the screw easier. You can absolutely put the slide or the ladder in either of the designated spots. Make sure that when you stand the tower up for the first time that the legs are parallel. Attaching the roof will be a pain if they are not. Make the set as level as possible or connecting the tower to the swing pole will be almost impossible. Use at least two people. It will go much smoother. The instructions have some errors in it as a far as labeling the parts. You'll have to use your head.
Thank you for your great review. If you have more suggestions, as well as the errors for the instruction manual, we would love to take a look at them to improve our instruction manuals. You are welcome to email them to reviews@lifetime.com and we will get them to the correct people.
We love it!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We bought this play set for our grand babies about a month ago. They just love it. We've had story time inside the “Princess Castle” area and look forward to many years of memories. Maybe grandma will even go down the slide...
After 3 years it's rusted through
We bought the set in December of 2016 and 2 years later parts of the tower were completely rusted through. I contacted costumer service and was told that rust was not covered in the warranty and I could purchase replacement parts. Now, things are worse and a piece under the tower has fallen off and I am concerned about the safety. I would have expected a play set at this price point would not start deteriorating so quickly.
terrific product
I just finished installing this playset (which was a real challenge) and it is a fantastically built, well crafted, beautiful playset. The pros are many - no wood parts, very thick durable plastic, powder coated metal components make up the frame. For the extra money you pay vs a wooden set this is a no-brainer. The only drawback is the set up - the instructions were wrong in a few places, causing us to de-assemble a section or two and start over. I had a crew of four guys, three guys working pretty hard on it, one reviewing and going over the instructions and it took us a day and a half to get it set up. Once set up though it was worth every penny. The kids (and the neighbor kids) have been on it non-stop
We love it
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We have owned this swingset for 5 months now. I had done reseach for probably six months making sure this is what we needed. Was worried most about the curved ladder and little kids but kids as young as two can do it. I do stand close by most times to be sure they don't need help. I also love this swingset as I can climb up to the top to be with them and I can also swing with them and they also love that. Well worth it. We opted to have someone put together for us and it only took them half a day.
Great playset
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is a great playset that we will likely enjoy for a long time. The installation process was long and tedious. I recommend watching the videos even if the written directions seem straightforward. We found that there is information in the videos that is not in the written directions. (such as where the swing bar is located in relation to the other parts while building the tower). There were also 2-3 places where the written directions had mistakes and called for the wrong hardware and caused some frustration, but we were able to figure it out with some logic and the help of the video. My only dislike of this playset is the ladder. The arch and distance between rungs is not safe for younger children. The top of the ladder is especially hazardous as the child is stepping from the ladder to the tower. The gap between the top rung of the ladder and the tower is very large. A child could easily fall right through it if they slipped or misjudged the distance. I realize every activity has inherent risk, but they could easily make the rungs closer together, re-engineer the ladder to be steps, or a variety of other safer options. I'd love to see Lifetime offer an aftermarket addition to the ladder to improve the safety. In general, this ladder is not up to par on quality compared to typical Lifetime products.
Great quality and withstands Windstorms
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We have had this playset in our backyard for about 6 months now. My kids love playing on this. It will be nice when my littlest daughter will be able to climb the ladder more skillfully (she is 18 months.) My only complaint so far is that it's not incredibly little kid friendly. Next summer will be a lot better for her to be climbing the ladder and rock wall. The materials seem like they will last for ever. The area we live in can get very windy. We have had a couple really bad windstorms and it didn't even budge which is awesome! A lot of trampolines will fly down the neighborhood causing damage, which is one of the reasons we decided to forgo a trampoline and purchase a swing set.
Grandkids love it!
We almost bought the Climb and Slide Playset but decided on the Lifetime Adventure Tower instead because it has more activities. We bought this just in time to assemble it before the cool weather arrived. My wife and I worked together as a team for about six evenings. Our son-in-law helped put the roof on. Halfway through the process we had the part numbers memorized. The instructions were clear and precise. I was pleasantly surprised to see a separate package of spare parts. Yes indeed! The grandkids love it, therefore, so do we! Note: We added the baby swing that's on the end. It does not come with the unit.
Great Product
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We bought the tower for our grandchildren. We are thrilled with the purchase. I was suprised by the reviews stating that you need 3 or more people to build it. Not the case at all, it took me about 10 1/2 hours to build. 90% of which I did solo. My wife helped with some steps where another set of hands helped tightening bolts. The instructions were clear and you should take time to read them before starting. I also checked out some videos on YouTube which were helpful. The key is keeping the process orderly and not get overwhelmed with the instructions. It's just like reading a book, start at page one and proceed one page at a time. I would also like to mention the great support from Lifetime I experienced. There was one bracket missing from the boxes. I emailed the company and was pleasantly surprised with the response. The part was shipped out immediately and I had it in a few days. Overall we are pleased with the Tower and would recommend it. We also purchased a Lifetime Geo Dome. Same quality as the Tower.
Great pics! I'm sure your kids will love the shade cover you have under that big tree.
