Doesn't Stay Closed!

Not the same. I have a previous Wenger Swiss Gear bag that has lasted years. So I first noticed that the fabric does not appear to be woven just kind of a pressed pattern and it sounds crinkly and stiff. Then while walking through the airport, the zippers were open. I said I thought I closed it, but then after walking some more they were open again. So, beware if you have any amount of weight like a laptop, they can come open on their own. Returned

filing a complaint, faulty zipper=computer damage

I bought this a month ago and this is the first trip I have used it for. The first leg of my airline flight I didn't have any issues. Now, 3 days ago I took the second leg of my trip. While standing (not moving) in line at the airport, the faulty zipper gave way and my work laptop and tablet went flying onto the floor. The tablet wasn't damaged but the computer was! Thank goodness it still could boot up! The back is badly bent.... It was in the computer compartment of the backpack! I put it in a different compartment and realized that zipper has the same issue - it doesn't want to stay shut. Yes the backpack was full. I had to mess with the zipper and put it in different positions to get it to stay shut! It will come undone VERY easily with simple pressure pulling on the seam. DO NOT put the zippers together at the top. It WILL come apart. I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THIS, SAVE YOUR COMPUTER. I AM RETURNING THIS AND FILING A COMPLAINT. Funny thing is, I simply wanted to "upgrade" from my older Swissgear laptop - same model. It had NEVER had any issues for 10 years! NOW I have to get something else to get me through the rest of my trip! If you are traveling light or don't care about contents spilling out, go ahead and chance it. Otherwise, I wanted to warn others to not get this until they resolve this issue. It should be recalled.

Terrible quality, split at the seams

This backpack lasted me less than 5 months and only a few uses. Terrible quality, the stitching comes apart very easily. I used this backpack on a trip overseas and it split open in several places under little to no stress. This happened on my way to the airport which made my flights difficult and problematic. I have used these backpacks in the past but will no longer do so in the future. Not sure who Swissgear has making these backpacks but they need a thorough inspection.

Horrible!!!!

I bought this backpack for work and leisure travel. The first time using it was on 09/19/22. Let me tell you, all compartments kept coming unzipped as I walked. I lost my headphones due to this. I’m not happy at all. My iPad and purse also fell out because of the poorly made bag. I was able to retrieve those items thankfully. This bag will remain in Florida as I travel home on Thursday. Very disappointed!!!!

Swiss Army Backpack

Amazing quality. This will last for years! I was going to buy my son the under armour backpack but because i compared the swiss army to the under armour the under armour was far inferior and very poor in quality and construction compared to the swiss army, by far swiss army wins any day hands down!!!!

Road Warriors Beware

I had the old version of this laptop for years and LOVED IT. But the new and improved is not improved at all. The old version was rugged and great quality. This backpack is terribly laid out and when compartments are loaded, the zippers open on their own as you walk...Several times getting on airplanes, I have had someone say "Sir, you are about to lose your laptop" Or "You are coming unzipped" NEVER did that happen before.

Bad Zippers

I love Swiss Gear and have used their products faithfully for almost 20 years. I've never had a concern about the security of my belongings. But this one is different. The zippers are horrible and cheap. I have a Swiss Gear backpack from 2010 that I can position both pulls at the top and it never comes unzipped. I could load it up with textbooks or pack for a week and the zippers never gave. Not the case with this one. Just busted the screen on my work phone because not one but two compartments unzipped on my walk from the car to work. I will be returning it.

Have to use Carefully

The laptop pouch is bound to just fall off if the zips are on the top.One has to make sure both the zips are on the bottom. I had a few times forgot to bring it down and the when I zipped it, both of them stayed on the top. The zips just unzip themselves due to the weight of the laptop and the bag just falls down.

Zippers

For those that have wrote reviews about the zippers that unzip while walking, you need to put both zippers for each compartment both to one side. You cannot zip the compartments up and leave the zippers at the top or it will come unzipped as you walk. Pull both zippers to one side and it will be fine.

Poor warranty

I have a couple of these backpacks. The seam started to come apart on the top near the handle. I submitted a claim to Swiss online and submitted all of the required information. They took 3 weeks to respond only to reject my claim. They stated that I was missing essential information. The “missing information” was never requested in their warranty portal. They appear to be a company that offers a long warranty, but plan to never fulfill it. They ignore you, then reject the claim. They don't even give you the option to submit the additional information they wanted. They expected me to start the process all over again. They just want your money then for you to go away. Thankfully Sam's Club has a great return policy. I just returned it for a refund. I hope they have a way of getting a refund for the poor quality product from Swiss.
