Very good For a eight year old get out on the water and have some fun with adult supervision. We have two of them and the eight year-old twins can do a lot of kayaking.

We got this for my almost 6 year old daughter as her first kayak. It works perfectly for someone her size. She hopping right on and took off. For only $88, it's so worth it.

My little girl is 5 and we bought this for her birthday. Took it on the river and it did good, she actually got it going by herself. The yellow does come with the backrest.

This is our third kayak for the kids and they love it. Plus point is the carry handle in the front and included paddles downside is the lack of a seat.
