The kayak is a perfect size and love the 2 sided oar that comes with it. My son loves it. The only thing I didn't know was that it has a hole in the bottom of the kayak so everytime he gets in it he gets very wet, which is fine in the summer, but not so good in the fall when it's not quite as warm. Other than that, it is a perfect gift for a younger child who likes to kayak.

I am happy with the two Lifetime Wave Jr kayaks I purchased. This company makes nce products. I was disappointed to learn that these kayaks, except for the yellow model, do not come with seat backs. Reading earlier Walmart.com comments from Lifetime on this topic implied they would supply customers with seat backs who were under the impression that all models came with one.

My kids love these kayaks. One of my older sons will take the 2 year old with them on the kayak and she loves it too. Great for flat water fun on the lake. They do not tip easily and have a little handle up front that the kids can use to drag the kayak back up the beach without trouble. Highly recommend.

My 8 year old grandson LOVES this kayak!!! The first day we surprised him with it, he spent seven hours on it, taking breaks only to eat and go to the bathroom! He picked up the paddling immediately. It is very stable and light weight. Have since taken him kayaking several times, lake and river (not whitewater). He loves it!

I am a grandparent with two five year old grandchildren. I generally don't give reviews good or bad. However, after reading several hundred reviews on line, and appreciating your staff response. I felt compelled to add my experience after recently buying two of your yellow kayaks at our local Walmart store. We are a kayak family, and I've owned thee top of the line kayaks for over 35 years. I've noticed our Walmart selling for the very first time the Blue and Yellow Yaks. My immediate overall assessment was price & quality, and you passed the test. My observation indicated no back rest nor hooks provided for both yaks. Until reading the reviews, I was not aware that option or the kayaks being made available on line. The back rest was not a show stopper after reading the number of issues folks were having. What I felt could improve your product without an additional price markup are the following items. Add two kayak handles at the swim platform area for little hands to hold, and pull them selves out of the water. Add a kayak seat pad for comfort only. Add a metal tie off support rings at the front for attaching a safety line until they mastered the art or getting towed. Add a drip guard to the provided paddle as no one enjoys water running to the armpit. I purchased rubber gulf balls to use as scupper plugs at Walmart. However in doing so I realized your scupper holes were not standard size, and therefor worked the bottom side hole to fit. I live near the ocean, and between slow moving rivers, I expect the modifications will be useful at both locations. Thank You, for the joy this product brings our little people. I gave this four stars based on one or two simple recommendations listed above.

Good quality and the kids can easily navigate with the paddles. I was impressed how stable they appear to be and the kids haven't fallen off them even goofing around on them. The only downside is being flat and with holes in it that it's a challenge to stay dry.

Easily maneuverable by a 5 year old, yet fits my 8yr old well too! Pretty light weight and the kids can drag into the water and get on by themselves. The price is right! Two can actually fit on the inside of my minivan with the middle row center seat gone and the back seats folded down!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My mom bought theses in Blue and Orange for my 7 year old twins. They absolutely love them. We have even taken friend out to use them. I thought I would see how the weight limit was. It was fun it floated just fine. I would definitely recommend getting it for your kiddos if under 130 lbs if over that get them a bigger one. They are addicting and so easy and fun to play with.

We purchased this for our 5 year old. He was able to quickly get on it and was paddling around a small pond within minutes. His younger brother sat on the front for a few rides. We are completely thrilled with this purchase and will certainly buy a second.

Bought one last year so my daughter can go along with me. The one BIG drawback is no seat back. My daughter doesn’t want to go out on it unless it has a seat back, she complained it hurt her back. And I’m not finding a simple seat the fits this without having to drill holes in it. For this one thing I would NOT recommend it.
