My 9 yr old used this kayak at camp and begged me to buy one. We purchased this online at Wal-Mart. It came quickly. It had a few scratches from shipping (it is wrapped only in plastic and does not come in a box). But I would expect it to get scratched quickly from use anyways. My son and his friends immediately put the kayak in the water and used it. They had a great time. Very lightweight and easy for them to use without adult assistance. I would highly recommend. My parents bought this for my children (ages 3-10) and they have gotten so much use out of it!! Lightweight, holes for draining, carrying handle, easy to maneuver, sturdy and when my kids broke the paddle rough-housing, Lifetime sent a replacement free of charge!

We bought this for our 10 year old son. He was getting too big to sit in the one seater kayak with my husband so we decided he was old enough for his own. He loves it. It sits on my vans' rack in between the two kayak holders we already have for our 2 10ft kayaks. It is so easy to use the oars and turn. If we're out for a while then I will tie him to me in case he gets tired. My 5 year old tried it and he could use it pretty easily as well!! The one thing I would recommend getting is a carry strap. My son carries it himself with a carry strap much easier than just by itself.

I purchased two of these kayaks for my children ages 6, 8, 10, and 12 and they love them! They're a great price, light weight, my children didn't get frustrated using them, they had fun using them as paddle boards and just laying on them too. The Kayaks were a great gift and hours of fun for our kids. I was also happy about them being small enough that I was able to fit both of them in my mini van with only putting one third row seat down. I didn't have to deal with strapping them on top on my van.

The Lifetime Wave Kayak is awesome. Unfortunately, the paddles arrived with the ends flattened during shipping, so the paddle could not be assembled. Ian at customer service honored the guarantee and is replacing the paddle. The kayak itself is fine and works great, we had to borrow a neighbors paddle.

A friend recommended this to me, and at the price, it seemed too good to be true. The first time my 9-year old put it into the ocean, she easily climbed off and kayaked away, looking like she'd been born to it. It's steady, fun, light enough for her to carry down to the beach by herself, and sturdy. We'll probably buy another for my 5-year-old next year.

Had been borrowing the identical kayak for my 4 year old granddaughter, now she has her own and is tickled pink! Remember safety first, especially with this young age, life jacket is always a must and we only take her in the flats which is knee high water and it tracks fine in that shallow water

I got two of the kayaks for my 9 and 10 year old grandsons and they LOVE them. They are heavy duty and well designed, but light enough for the boys to carry them using the built-in hand grips. The boys have already had hours of fun on the lake with them. They are stable on the water, and both fit in the back of my SUV with the seats down. Delivery was much quicker than expected. Could not be happier!

For kids this is great. The back rest came with the yellow one online but not in store. First I bought the in store one and my kids backs got very tired and sore each time we took it out so I returned it and got the online one with a backrest. Much better though it is not a durable backrest it works and I like that it clips on and off. My kids that are less than 100 pounds us this one just fine but my 120 pound kid really wobbles and takes on water in the kayak so it really is for young kids.

We bought 2 yellow youth kayaks. They came with a foam seat back strap and a paddle. (We found the seat back strap was unnecessary.) They are light and very easy for little kids to manage on their own. Our kids LOVED them! Our 4 yo was self sufficient from the minute we brought them to the lake. Our big 12 yo was technically too big for them but he still was able to have fun with them. (They are meant for kids more in the 4-10 age range). We thought the price point was great. Walmart had the best price when we did the comparison. We picked them up at the store and were able to fit them in our Honda Pilot with the back seats flattened. We bought long rope with plenty of slack and tied the paddles to the kayaks to make sure they didn't get lost. These kayaks are awesome!
