Customer reviews for Hamilton Beach Professional Programmable 12-Cup Capacity Coffee Maker forExcellent Coffee ----every time, every day ----
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is an excellent product ----it really worked so well and so quickly unlike any coffee maker I have had in the past. I really like Hamilton Beach products as they are so very well made and dependable. I am definitely going to look for more products and recommend this brand to others that I know. Works remarkably well for me and I am sure will last a long time working that well.

Unique coffeemaker
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This coffee maker is a very nice looking appliance. It is very eady to operate, takes a cone type filter instead of normal filters, but works well. It brews coffee in about 7 minutes, brews quietly, then beeps when done. Easy to program, only thing I didn't care for was that no matter what you set the hot plate for, if it goes off you can't just turn off and back on to start timer again, it asks for more h2o.
Hamilton Beach 12 cup Professional Coffee Maker
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Quality made coffee machine. It is definitely different than what I'm use to. It has a removable water container for easy filling and also makes it easier to clean. Displays time and also time lapsed since first brewing, auto shut off after 2 hours. Filters are different than the ordinary where they must be folded on the marked lines. Using unbleached filters gives off a fresh & satisfying taste. I really like this coffee machine and recommend it to others.
Best ever
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have owned many coffee makers over the years and this is by far the best. You can set how strong you want the coffee, how hot you want it and how long the burner keeps the coffee hot. I program it so my coffee is ready and waiting when I get up. It is made high so it doesn't take up a lot of counter space. It even has a built in scoop. Did I mention you can remove the water chamber? Oh I love it. Easy cleaning.
Overall Excellent Device
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] At first glance, I love the initial appearance. It definitely looks like a professional product. It offers a great balance between base model coffee makers/brands (Mr. Coffee, Black & Decker, etc.) and top of the line super expensive coffee maker/brands (Breville, Moccamaster, etc.). At it's price point, I think this coffee maker is most definitely worth the money. I do have more CONS then PROS. However, overall I love this coffee maker as the PROS far outweigh the CONS. PROS: - Removable water reservoir. Excellent feature that I admittedly never experienced in any of my previous coffee makers. Also, never a feature I knew I wanted but not sure I could ever go back. Collapsable handle makes it easy to fill without getting wet or spilling. - Adjustable hotplate temperature. I've always found most coffee maker hotplates to be too hot and they cannot be adjusted so it usually burns the coffee. Love being able to adjust the temperature so I can maintain hot coffee longer without burning it. - Adjustable hotplate duration. In addition to the above, all of my previous coffee makers had a hotplate that was too hot and if you didn't remember to turn it off, would burn the coffee. Being able to adjust time and temperature has made the hotplate a useful feature in my eyes. - Coffee scoop spoon. Such a simple addition that makes all the difference. Hides away beautifully, easy to grab quickly, perfect size. Never seen this in any other coffee maker. Sets this one apart. The little things make all the difference sometimes. CONS: - Coffee filter often sticks/folds when closing filter basket (Picture attached). When closing the filter basket, I have to be careful the paper filter doesn't fold into itself. I have adjusted to this design flaw by folding the paper filter in a certain way before placing in the basket. However, I believe this should have been addressed in the design phases. I am using the paper filter brand that matches that of the filter samples provided with the device. - Much less real stainless steel than I expected. Only the front of the basket is stainless steel. I expected the entire surround to be stainless. I will add that it was disguised very well and most people wouldn't notice that the majority of the device is plastic unless closely inspected. - Coffee doesn't brew the full amount of water when finished in pot. I expect that if I fill the water line to 12 that the pot will show 12 cups of coffee when finished. This one brews just above 11 when water is filled to 12. I realize some water is evaporated or lost in the coffee filter and elsewhere. However, I expect the manufacturer to plan and adjust for this as best they can when designing a device. - When setting the time to program a coffee brew, the coffee maker beeps to confirm that the new coffee brew time has been set. However, whenever I set the program time, coffee maker beeps to confirm, but then I have to press the program button again to turn on the program. I wish that after setting a program time that the program would turn on automatically after the new time is confirmed. I never adjust the program time unless I'm setting it up for a scheduled brew. This is a personal preference that others may think differently. However, before realizing it worked this way, I missed turning on the program and woke up to no coffee brewed.
Great Coffee Maker
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This Hamilton Beach Professional Programmable Drip Coffee Maker makes the best tasting coffee. It looks great on my kitchen counter and doesn’t take up much space. The high brewing temperature makes the coffee better in my opinion. There are 4 brew strength options. The button selection on top is easy to use. It is so convenient to have the built in coffee scoop on top. The 60 oz. Water reservoir is easy to fill. I use this coffee maker daily. I program it before I go to bed so my coffee will be ready in the morning when I wake up. There is a pause and pour feature if you want a cup before it is done brewing. The basket swings open to easily put the coffee in the cone brew basket. The cleaning cycle reminder is great so I will never forget to clean it. This is a great quality coffee maker and I would recommend it.
Love this coffee maker!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I love this coffee maker. It is very easy to program. I just love waking up to a pot of fresh, hot coffee. It makes the coffee hot and it makes the coffee pretty fast. I also love that it stays nice and hot for hours. You have to use the cone filters and comes with a few to start you out. I really like cone filters more than the normal ones. Love the color and the way it looks on my counter.
Pro's and con's
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I recently tried the Hamilton Beach 12 Cup Professional Programmable Coffee maker and have a mixed review about it. First, Hamilton Beach makes quality, long lasting appliance's. This coffee maker is a tough one to review. It's a tall unit at 14" which didn't give me much clearance under my kitchen cabinets. At 7" wide, it's a good fit but it's 11" deep meaning it sticks out and takes up too much of my counter space. My main con is that the water reservoir has to slide over a clip on the back of the unit. It does have a handle to lift the unit off and fill with water but trying to set it on that clip is really inconvenient. I have to pull the unit out from under my cabinets ( it's got rubber feet) so it's not easy to move because it's also heavy. Then moving it back in place makes the water in the reservoir splash if the loose lid isn't properly in place. Mind you, this reservoir does not have a fixed lid to cover the water in it, you just set it on top...nope. I spend as much time trying to put that cover on so it doesn't come off as I do trying to seat the water unit itself. It would be much better if it were a "fixed" lid that flips up instead of a loose one that you set on top of the water. Brewing the coffee is a chore. This unit takes the cone style filters and they just don't set right in the brewer. They're too tall and every single time I've used it, it had flipped over and my coffee was full of grounds. Not a great way to start the day. And they filter door has a spring on it that you actually have to slam shut as a gentle push doesn't work, it won't work if it's not properly closed. As the coffee is brewing, I get a lot of condensation on that door which is a stainless steel finish. I have to keep wiping it off. Now setting up the timer to brew in the early morning is easy, you have options on how strong you want your coffee which is convenient. The clock setting is nice but I have a clock on my microwave, stove and now the coffee maker...just too much. The carafe is nice, it has a wide pour spout instead of the V shaped one on other makers. This unit definitely needs a redesign. Move the water reservoir to the side, lose the spring on the coffee grounds door, fix the filter space so it doesn't fall over during brewing and make it easier to move. I just can't get used to having to pull the unit out every night to fill with water, try to slide the water unit so it's properly in place, put the lid on, pray the coffee filter doesn't collapse during brewing and that the spring on the door doesn't snap from daily use. You can get a cup of coffee during brewing with the auto stop but there's always that one drop that hits the heating plate when you do. I do like the option to choose how long that plate stays hot. I guess I'm so used to my other name brand coffee maker that seeing and using this one is just to difficult to adjust to.
Fits our Lifestyle-Brews a tasteful Pot of Coffee
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] At home in the morning, quick brewing, the cup measurement on the water dispenser does not match the measurement on the coffee pot. The water filter definitely makes a better tasting pot of coffee. Easy to clean. Proportion of the unit is a nice size for counters that don't have a lot of space!!!
