The only thing I love about this printer is...it prints out beautiful color. The process of setting it up, oh man... it was a nightmare. I had to be with HP support for 5 hours (no exaggeration) In order to get the 6 months free of Instant Ink, you're going to have to call them. This printer doesn't have ePrint (Sam's Club likes to sell older models & not tell you). One support agent wasted hours & hours of my time and then, the last guy did it in 10 minutes (lol funny, not funny). I actually still have to call back again because the printer margin settings are off and I can't change them and to get my 1 year extra warranty yet. I'm working through the frustration because it prints very well and I'm not going through all this again with another printer. lol. Here's HP+ support # 855-762-3485 to help if you get it.

Do not buy this printer unless you are really tech savy, are not elderly and have the strength of 5 big men. The cartridges are impossible to deal with. They have orange caps on them that you can't get off unless you are very strong, we got three of them off and the black one broke and black ink all over me and my beige carpet, I called HP and talked to a very rude man, didn't speak very good english and he hung up on me. I am pretty bent out of shape.

BEWARE! STAY AWAY! I bought this from Sam's and had to return within a week, got a replacement and went though a lot of headaches with this printer. Now, that i cancelled my ink program and they wont let me use any ink. I have to buy new HP ink or they say I cant print. I connected it to Wi-Fi-direct and HP says I cant print unless I connect to my Wi-Fi.. what?! this is against my privacy and should be against the law! Never buy HP

I have had the printer for 3 weeks now. It prints beautifully, my issue is it squeals EVERY TIME I print. It needs wd40 or something. The sound is like nails on a chalkboard. I have to prepare myself for the squeal in order to get my project printed. I have NEVER had a NEW printer that squeals. I would return it if I had not already opened it. I will not buy another HP again due to this issue

I bought this HP printer and during the set-up process I found out I had to sign up for HP+ and to agree on using only HP ink replacement which would be more expensive. I returned the printer as the result and I will never buy any HP product ever again.

Doesn't set up right. Would not scan alignment page. Connects to wifi, but will not allow printing from app. App says printer is unavailable. HP support doesn't respond. Entirely a waste of time and effort. Complete failure on HP. Huge disappointment.

Yes, this seems like a great printer for maybe a few months. I don’t use it consistently everyday and I couldn’t even if I wanted to. Constant errors. It will print 6 out of 10 pages and just quit giving me an error. Random errors with no solutions. Support is horrible, troubleshooting is just as bad. Save your money and time and find something else. Wish I would’ve read more reviews outside of this website.

My old officejet stopped working so i replaced with the 8028. The setup for me took about 10 minutes since i already had an account. I am able to print wirelessly from my phone and computer. I also signed up for ink program and received my free ink within 2 weeks.

This is a terrible printer/scanner. I am so disappointed as I've always had HP printers/scanners and this one is not what is advertised. The scanner is unreliable and consistently gives errors when scanning multiple pages so rescanning again and again is required. If you need to scan one page you must put it on the glass then reframe it on your phone (if you are a Mac user) then save it and send it to yourself via their app. You cannot scan any documents directly from the printer/scanner to your computer if you use a Mac (this function is only available for PCs). You must download and use their app to send scans to your Mac in order to use the scanner function so you must have your phone in hand when scanning and control the scan from your phone. The materials used to manufacture this printer/scanner are cheap as well, in comparison to other HP printers/scanners I've purchased in the past. I thought by paying $200, I would have a great printer and scanner but that's not the case. I am so disappointed in HP and am returning this mess of a machine.

Another three-hour "tour" with HP so-called "tech support" trying to get the printer to work properly. And, NO, NO, NO, I don't want to sign up for your pathetic "Instant Ink." There is NO "free" with HP. Very slow printing (almost reminded me of an old dot matrix!) and the general construction seems more like a $99 unit would have. Paper drawer is especially flimsy. Also, scanner will not accept a legal-size page. Most likely will be returning this clunker and looking for another brand of printer.
