Stop eating pineapples and compare apple to apple

Unlike the previous reviewer; I called the company IMPEX inc. that makes this product and there is a big difference between the model sold by Sears (MD-9010) and the model MD-9010G that is sold by Walmart. The Sears model is the older model that was introduced in 2005. The much cheaper model carried by Walmart is the most current model which comes with a sturdier frame. It is no wonder why Sears was willing to price match an older model to Walmart's current model to clear the shelves for the newer ones.

Great machine

I hate how the Smith is literally a pole and plastic at the end. Same as where the weights go.. but it is a great starter machine! It has all the motions you need for a great workout. I just hate the instructions. They are horrible but we did it! Also the bench foam came dented in but that is about it.. the smith machine not like gym you have to have weight on it in order for it to be steady.

Everything we hoped for!

We were very pleased when we received the cage. It has everything it promised. It seemed a bit overwhelming to put together but once you get going it's not as bad at it looks. We really enjoy using it, and love how great it fits in to our hm gym. I don't miss driving to the gym at all anymore.

Good equipment

I very much like using this smith machine. I think that it is a good piece of equipment and is pretty well built. I shopped around online and at several stores before ordering this one. I have used it a few times already and like the quality and ease of operation. The only complaint that I can think of is that it took about six hours to assemble. The bench is alot nicer than the one I had. It is very sturdy and you can incline or decline. I also like all of the accessories that came with it. There is the pull down bar, a rope, an ankle attachment, and another tricep handle and two handles like the ones shown in the picture. I also like the six pegs for weight storage. I think that for the money, it is hard to find a better quality unit and besides that, it was delivered to my door and I didn't have to figure out how to get it home from a store.

GREAT MACHINE!!!!

After reading all the reviews I decided to go with this machine, and i'm glad I did. I thought it would be difficult to put together, but it wasn't too hard. Took me about 8hrs. Parts were easy to find and everything was easy to id. After you understand the format of the instruction evrything just flows toghther. Was missing one part. I callled the company and had it delivered to my house in two days. Was able to assemble everthing without the missing part. After using it for about a week very impress. Can go from on station to another effortlessly. Can bench press, arm curl and lat pull downs witout moving weight or adjusting the machine. Safty. Can left, and squat with or without a spotter. So my teenage son can workout by himself. Also can store weights and bar. VERY NICE MACHINE!!

Lifesaver

The Marcy MD-9010G is a solid, quality machine. It has been a god-send recently in that I was a routine gym-goer that was displaced due to the pandemic. Really loving the ability to recreate so much of my lifting behavior in the comfort of my own garage.

no ka oi

I saw this marcy machine with the best price from walmart.com, but they did not have it in stock ended up purchasing at sears.com and matching walmart price. After openning all the boxes and spreading out all the parts, read that other people took 2 to 7 plus days to put together and some people just gave up, my family helping with handing me parts and just taking it slow and easy and paying attention, had it done in less then 8 hours, yes the instructions were hard, no part numbers on the parts, but if you go by hawaii standards you will do fine. after putting on weights and using, not bad for a cable machine using free weight plates, very smooth. Good luck putting it together

It took three weeks for the home gym to arrive. Once it arrived it was in three boxes with somewhere around 700 total parts (includes screws, bolts, etc...) As soon as I started putting it together I realized that it was missing several key parts such as brackets. In addition, the instructions are horrible and do not have the parts labeled correctly. I called the manufacturer and I'm still waiting on parts. I can already tell this will take me a whole weekend to put together.

MD-9010G

Overall a quality product! Highly recommend. Was pleasantly surprised how quickly it shipped. Delivery, however, was another story. But that's on the trucking company, not Marcy. It all worked out. As others have said, assembly takes a while and some steps will require two people. There's a YT video that may be helpful. READ all the instructions FIRST, lay out your parts and hardware in an organized fashion, you'll be fine. Overall construction quality is the main reason I didn't give it 5 stars. I had to sand down some welding slag inside the sleeve to get the bar to go through for the Smith Cage. Didn't expect that at this price point. A couple other quick observations after a week of use: For me, the bench is overkill. Very heavy and complex for what it is. I thought I would like the lumbar support for my bad back, but I'm finding it obtrusive. The C clips for attaching the accessories are slow and cumbersome. I'll get some heavy duty carabiners to replace. Pretty satisfied and look forward to many years of use.

Awesome Overall Product

I am extremely pleased with the Marcy Pro Smith Machine. The versatility allows for a full body workout. The assembly time was about 9 hours total with the bench. I recommend leaving all bolts loose until each part is assembled otherwise some parts may not align correctly. All in all, a good product and great value.
