I really love this gym now that it is built probably took my 5 hrs by myself and I build alot of things . None of the pieces were labeled which added probably a hour trying to figure out what was but . But now that it's done very solid gym the Smith machine is smooth once you get some weight on it and I live that you can use 1 in or 2in plates for the pulleys .

Once the unit was fully assembled, I enjoy using it at home. All the big pieces fit together,  perfectly.. the cable system, however, was a little bit challenging. Diagrams were not quite clear as to connecting. Most parts were labeled approximately 98% leaving guesswork on a couple of items.

I bought this machine 2 months ago been very satisfied with it does everything i had hoped it would do it saves me a 30 mile round trip to the gym 3to4 daysa week . It wasn't the easiest thing to put together but I did get it done.The biggest problem Ihad was the delivery company and I don't know if Walmart still uses them or not but I will say this Walmart did take care of me very well and I do appreciate it.

I bought this machine to replace my gym membership.   I have spent almost 18 months in a gym, working with a professional traniner.  This unit provides an opportunity to work every major muscle group.  This was relatively easy to assemble, with the cables being the most difficult (just some commen sense needed here).  The unit was delivered in 3 packages, allowing two people to carry to the second floor.  This fits in a 10 x 10 bedroom with room to use all parts of the machine without restrictions.  This has sucessfuly replaced my gym & pt, love this.

Excellent Machine

This is a really nice machine. My husband wanted to be able to work out in a variety of ways from home. I will say, it takes a good 3-4 hours to put together and you'll need two people. However, it seems sturdy and well-made. We use it several times a week and are already feeling results. It's nice to not have to go to the gym to workout.

Worth the Investment

Everything was great besides assembly. Each piece should have a number on them to match with the instructions but my pieces didn't have any numbers which made the assemble harder to do. Besides that, the machine is perfect for my home gym.

Worth it

I love the machine except the bench that has a lumbar arch that hurts my back when I'm doing flat bench and incline bench presses, the manufacture needs to take this out and just have a flat bench.  also, the box was delivered beat up and I was missing a couple of small things.  I still put it together by going to get what I need from the hardware store, but the shippers should not be so rough with the forklifts or make sure properly trained and qualified personnel operate the forklifts.  as far as putting together, I got more out of the videos on youtube but used in conjunction with the paper instructions.  I know of a couple of other design improvements I can suggest if I could speak with the manufacture.  other than that, great machine for my medium strength workouts.  thank you.

great machine, couple of hiccups but well worth it

This review is for the Diamand Elite Smith Machine MD-9010G.
I received delivery in December 2024.

Hereâ€™s the brief:

I give it 4 stars out of 5, and Iâ€™m close to giving it 5.  Marcy did a great job, Iâ€™m very satisfied.  The one I received is well made.  It is not commercial grade equipment and Marcy does not advertise it as such.  Assembly is a challenge but worth it.  The sliding weight post for the pully system could be better even for home use grade, but itâ€™s good enough and easily upgradable if youâ€™re so inclined.  The smith machine bearing mechanism is very good for the price.  

Hereâ€™s more detail in case youâ€™re interested:

I am so close to giving this rack 5 stars.  The sliding weight post for the pully system is not as smooth as it should be and easily could be with the correct material insert.  This is the insert that serves as the interface for sliding up and down the chrome plated guide post.  There are silicon like pads normally used for this purpose that have much less friction than the plastic installed on this rack.  Iâ€™ll fix mine very soon.  Also, this rack really should have a pull-up bar included.  Iâ€™ll be adding that too.  Those 2 things are all thatâ€™s keeping me from giving it 5 stars, not a big deal really and Marcy could easily fix.  I understand though it comes down to making business decisions on pricing and the market.  

Assembly is way more than I expected but itâ€™s worth it.  Iâ€™m really impressed how well Marcy organized it with all the piece parts.  No parts were missing and I found only 1 minor error in the instructions that at this point I donâ€™t even remember what it was.  Donâ€™t unpack and separate the bolts, nuts and other stuff from the shrink-wrapped cardboard.  I almost did that before I noticed the cards are marked to reference numbers in the assembly instructions.  The instructions are mostly all exploded view assembly steps, very few words.  Reference both manuals provided when assembling.  You need to have some minor level of experience in such assembly.  If you donâ€™t you can probably still do it, it will take even longer, and then you will have the experience.  For those that donâ€™t have much experience, when youâ€™re assembling metal components like this leave the nut and bolt connections loose until all are in place, then go back and tighten everything.  Loose is about an 1/8â€ gap relative to snug and you may need to go back and open the gap up more on specific bolts if you find some parts are not aligning.  It took me over a day to assemble.  Assembly could be made easier if it were shipped in more preassembled pieces but that would make shipping more expensive and larger pieces for you to handle to get to where you are setting it up.  Like everything itâ€™s a tradeoff.  Though assembly is a pain, I think Marcy did the right tradeoffs.

As with any new rack you may get, it will take a little time using it to get it setup to for your preferences.  For example, I needed a longer chain extension (not included) on the 2 pulley cables for doing chest fly movement.  I finally found the right length for me that also works well for hooking the lat bar in the center to both pulleys.  I had doubts the lat bar centered between both pulleys would work well, but it does when you get it right.     

The leg extension/curl could have been designed to be easily removable.  That piece of equipment is not something you want to have to deal with when youâ€™re using the bench for other purposes.  Iâ€™m going to fix mine to make it removable.  I think most people would not do that themselves and may find it annoying when using the bench for other movements, and then end up leaving it off and not using it much.  There are several ways to make it easily removable.  The easiest being to just make a through pin insert design with a flat head and safety clip on the other end, both of low enough profile to avoid too much contact with the inside of the knees when in use.  This will require a different bushing insert setup with ID sized to fit the pin insert.

So close to a 5

I only recently got the gym but have been very happy so far. The only problem I had was there were two bolts sent that were the wrong size. It was easy enough to fix. I just borrowed two bolts from the plate pegs to finish the job. I had a plate tree so it wasn't like I needed the pegs anyway. The instructions are not that difficult to follow it's just very involved and there are parts mixed in with the accessories so you have to dig. All in all I like I am very happy!

the delivery company did a bad service they don't have the necessary tools to lift equipment
that weighs more than 400 pounds, (since I live like on a hill, )and they left me my home gym practically on the street,I recommend the item but not the delivery company.bad services!!!!
