All The Kayak I Need

I was afraid that this would be more of a toy than a real kayak, but that's not the case. I'm a woman in my early 50s & I decided to buy a recreational kayak after borrowing a friend's a few times at the beach. I wanted something relatively lightweight so I could load it into my SUV by myself & at 38 lbs. this is about as light as they come. I haven't tried loading it on the roof rack of my truck yet (I think I'll have my 6'2" husband standing by just in case). "Real" kayakers may scoff at the built in handle on the side but it makes moving this thing a lot easier. You can't beat the price here & the Ship-To-Store was great. I tracked the shipment as the delivery truck made its way across the country from the manufacturer. I was even able to order the kayak online then go to my local WalMart to pay for it in cash, so I don't load up my credit card. I'm very pleased all the way around.

Awesome kayaks for fun, relaxing time on the water

I ordered these kayaks because they would fit inside my Toyota Sienna van (with the 2nd & 3rd row seats out). They fit perfectly! No need for an expensive roof rack or trailer. I have absolutely nothing bad to say about these kayaks. They are sturdy, solid on the water. They aren't the fastest boats out there, but they track fairly well. I haven't taken them on faster water, mostly flat (lakes, slow running rivers). The Lifetime name sold me. They came delivered each in a very heavy clear plastic bag. I wasn't home, so the delivery employee left them in front of the garage. I am very impressed with the delivery and the quality. Other kayaks cost so much more. I like the sit-on-top kayaks - easy in/out. The ONLY down side to them is I wish there were another carry handle at the back of the boats. There is only one toggle handle at the tip on front. It makes carrying them a little more difficult without another handle on the back. Dragging them on the sand or dirt is ok for a short distance, but on rocks or concrete, not good. I agree with other posters that anybody over 250 lbs. or near 6' might have a problem with fitting comfortably in this 8' boat. This is one purchase (including delivery/tax was under $450!) that I have already gotten my money's worth. I am so glad I bought them. Go for it! Get out there!!!

Good product great value

I appreciated the value of this item (the same product at amazon comes without paddle and backrest for more money). I did ship-to-store which worked well until I found the kayak had been damaged in transit. Walmart was great about the return though and I would buy it from them again.

Great kayak for kids!

We bought two of these boats to give our kids something fun to do during the "socially distanced" coronavirus summer. They loved them! And so did we (the parents!). The boats are perfect for new paddlers to go solo, and they are big enough for a parent and small kid to ride together together. Plus the customer service at Lifetime was great (we needed a replacement part, and they sent it right away)! If you are looking for long kayak trips, you'll need a nicer boat that tracks better. But for some basic fun out on the water (at a reasonable price), you can't beat the Lotus!

Good Creeking Kayak

Bought 2 last year for creek paddling. The boat is very stable and handles in the creek well. Also works well for fooling around on still water ponds and lakes. Do not recommend for river paddling because it is hard to keep it on course. Had to modify the VERY HARD seat by adding a butt pad and a roll to support the small of my back. PROBLEM: The little tiny seat buckles come apart VERY EASILY! ...and they SINK! Last trip a EXTREMELY HARD to paddle without that part!

Good value kayak for a beginner

I am a 59 year old woman who was looking for a basic kayak that was reasonably priced, easy to use, stable, light enough I could carry it by myself, and get it in and out of our Yukon by myself. The Lotus has met all my expectations. There's a "grip" in the center of the kayak where you can grab it and carry it. It's a little awkward and I wouldn't want to carry it long distances, but I can get it in and out of the car without help and carry it to the water. It weighs 38 pounds. There's also a short handle at the front to help pull it out of the water. The kayak was easy to get into and I felt it was stable. I weigh 150 pounds and it held me just fine. I'm a novice kayaker and had no problems getting used to using the included paddle. I plan on using this on calm days to cruise around our lake having fun. The kayak came with one scupper plug. I didn't really have any problem with much water coming up through the open scupper holes. You can order additional plugs online if you want them. You do get wet some, but it's more from water splashing on you while paddling. The open scupper holes help drain any water that gets into the kayak. I'm pleased with this kayak and feel it was good value for the money. Free shipping to my walmart, so I picked it up there. I was somewhat concerned of possible damage due to experiences of some other reviewers. Mine arrived in perfect shape. It was in a plastic bag so didn't really provide much protection, but maybe they are being more careful. We checked it over closely before taking it home to make sure.

Easy to transport

Very happy with my pair of kayaks; they perform just as expected. Best part for me is ease of transport. Easy to carry and I can pack two of them INSIDE my 2015 Subaru Forester with room to spare and still have a passenger seat open for my float partner! No roof rack or high lifting required.

second kayak

I bought a similar model at Sam's Club and a couple months later wanted another because so many people were interested and didn't want to keep borrowing my friend's, who also purchased one at Sam's. They fixed all the flaws in the one we bought, and added a handle and a comfy back rest. The cooler holder (beer hold) is bigger and nicer. The first model we purchased was the Monterey and very happy with both :) I have recommended to others to purchase this. It is well worth it. I live in SW Florida and have seen lots of things our boat can't get to. Love it!

Lots of fun and easy to transport!

Got this with another bigger emotion kayak from lifetime as an anniversary gift. I really have love how easy it is to steer and use. It's light enough that I can pack it and load it on the car. It is really stable ( held two laughing 8 year olds without tipping). It has held up really well and is almost a year old and the color is still bright (no sun fading) and the back rest looks new. I would definitely recommend getting one of these!

Fabulous price for a fabulous product!

Lifetime products are simply excellent, and these kayaks are no exception. We looked online to see if we could get a better deal, and not even the Lifetime Store itself offered such a great price! One retailer that sold "seconds" didn't even come close! These kayaks are easy to transport, comfortable, and easy enough to maneuver in the water that our 6- and 8-year-old granddaughters could easily row, turn, and enjoy these kayaks! This is a phenomenal value! We have recommended this product to our family and friends!
