The size is perfect to fit INSIDE my little Honda Fit (with the back seats and front passenger seat all down). And it is light enough for me to get it in and out easily. This is going to make it very easy to do a little kayaking after work once the weather warms up a little.

I am writing virtually the same review for this kayak and the dragonfly moorea as they are identical except for the seat and color. This has been a perfect starter kayak for our family and it is an exceptional value. The kayak is on the slow side and it does not track perfectly. Both of those are no big deal for use. What is important is stability. It is almost impossible to tip this over, and if you do fall/jump out it is easy to pull yourself back on as the rear of the kayak is specifically designed for that. We like the included paddle, but as new kayakers we do not have much comparison. This thing can handle an average adult and a kid no problem, which is great for us. My eight year old and even my five year old can handle this kayak on their own. Another benefit of the sit on top style of this kayak is that they are designed to stack for easy transportation. It really could not be much easier to stack them on the car and strap them down. It does, though take a little strength. I will say that I like the seat of the dragonfly moorea a little better. I can make this seat comfortable, but it takes some adjustment. Also the moorea seat has a watertight storage area built into the seat. This is an awesome kayak at a great price and is perfect for family recreational use.

Over Thanksgiving, I purchased 5 kayaks from another store.....actually, two different stores! On the way home, I passed the Lifetime store and saw they were a lot cheaper. I went into the store and purchased 5 of your kayaks.......then spent another hour returning the first ones I bought. We actually put two different kayaks in the pool and tried them out. The Lotus handles extremely well and the price was great. Thanks Lifetime!

I bought the 8 foot blue Lotus and one of lifetime's bright green Tamarack 10 footers (the 10 footer because I am taller and heavier). My family enjoyed both Kayaks, but were suprised at how well the 8 footer preformed. It appeared as stable as the 10 footer. As a result, I bought two more 8 footers so more of my family could enjoy them at the same time. The kids used them constantly at the lake this summer. And think of the gas I saved over running the wave runners as much. Good exercise also! My only recommendation to Lifetime would be to add a carrying handle to the back of the 8 footer like on the 10 footer.

Before we purchased 2 of these kayaks we read all of the reviews. All reviews were good and we agree with the stability, ease of use, storage, transportation, good quality of product, etc. We are in our late 60's and have no problem transporting or lifting the lightweight kayaks into our pickup truck. My husband has severe arthritis in his knees and the open kayak enables him to get in and out of the kayak without undue stress on his knees. There are several small rivers and lakes in our area that are great for canoes and kayaks and this Lifetime Lotus is just perfect for a comfortable, relaxing afternoon on the water. We are very, very pleased with this product. The free delivery to our local Wal Mart was so easy and quick.

This kayak was a little heavier then I expected, without a handle at the back it was slippery to carry.any distance. Very stable, when with other 8 foot kayaks whoever is on this one will be lagging behind. It doesnt go through the water as fast as the other ones that are more streamline in their design. If you are not going far or not with other different kayaks then its great. I even tried standing on it and i was abl to. Its a beautiful color and came with a really nice paddle. I now have a different sit on kayak that goes through the water as fast as the sit on kayak. The sit on kayak Is my favourite. Your not confined and it has a more free and rustic feel. Better for sun tanning and little passengers. So if you have help getting it to the water or your a guy, dont mind putting some extra effort into paddeling it, the sit ON kayak is fantastic.

We bought this for our teenager, and also bought a larger one for my husband but my husband actually likes this one better. The stabilility is amazing on it. My teenage son can actually use it like a paddle board down the river without it flipping. It's light enough To pack but heavy enough for it to last a lifetime! I've yet to be disappointed in any lifetime product I've owned! Great kyak for a great price!

Great kayak, easy to paddle, VERY stable. I can stand up on this kayak, which should say something about the stability of it. I chose this kayak because I saw the reviews about its stability and the fact that it's pretty easy to get back on even in the water. I am a very clumsy and unbalanced person so this kayak is perfect for me. The paddle and backrest came with it which was a huge plus. For some reason the scupper plugs were not included......I like the scupper plugs because the water will splash through the drain holes without them, although it will not sink the kayak, it will allow you to get wet. The only thing I do not like about this kayak is that it is kind of slow. That doesn't matter if you are just wanting to cruise around though. It is also very easy to control. A child could easily take this kayak for a ride. Overall this is a very good kayak. I would definitly recommend!

Bought 2 last year for creek paddling. The boat is very stable and handles in the creek well. Also works well for fooling around on still water ponds and lakes. Do not recommend for river paddling because it is hard to keep it on course. Had to modify the VERY HARD seat by adding a butt pad and a roll to support the small of my back. PROBLEM: The little tiny seat buckles come apart VERY EASILY! ...and they SINK! Last trip a EXTREMELY HARD to paddle without that part!

My 6 and 9 year old boys can use them confidently, and even jump off to swim and get back on again without tipping. The back rest is higher (more comfortable) and made better than other brands. They stack well to get into our mini SUV, and stand upright in the garage for easy storage. At less than 35#, I can head for a quiet outing by myself and get my kayak in/out of my car/water without the need for someone else to assist. LOVE LOVE LOVE my LIFETIME kayaks!
