I've had this vacuum for 2 years so this review is from long term use. Overall, this vacuum is amazing. It does everything you say it does. No problems with suction or performance. My one per peeve is the dust bin was not designed to handle long thick dark hair. I always have to reach deep into the bin to pull out long hairs. It seems that Dyson forgot to look at how to deal with hair that is long, dark, and thick. If you live with folks with long hair that is as strong as superman's.

We just got a dog and she sheds a lot! I have a central vacuum but got this Dyson for quick clean ups of dog hair. It is an excellent vacuum, very powerful and cleans up hair and fur no problem. I like the big canister, you can see all the dirt and hair picked up and it's easy to empty. It would be hard to clean the whole house with this vacuum because it is heavy to hold but fine for fast clean ups. I like the indicator lights which help with knowing when the vacuum is fully charged as well as how much battery power is left while cleaning. I would highly recommend.

These just simply aren't up to the task with larger dogs that have a lot of hair. Gets clogged easily and often, and at the end of the day I spend as much time taking it apart to get the clogs out as I do actually vacuuming. Boost setting requires everything be in practically new condition, and that excludes it having been in contact with any form dust. Looks cool and all, says Animal on it, but there a lot of more robust products at much lower prices out there (I have one, although it isn't cordless which is always more expensive). Not worth the price tag either way. Also the universal ball joint on the main vacuum head gets stuck in weird positions, and the pieces don't really go together smoothly. I don't really get why these are coveted machines.

I bought the v10 animal as I have a dog which sheds hair. The vacuum is excellent. It cleans pet hair perfectly, it's easy to clean the rollers and dirt cylinder. The tools are simple to change and are effective for stairs and hard to get at places. My house as never looked so clean ! Even the cardboard packing was a work of art which could have won the Turner prize ! All in all a well thought out and engineered product..

I have had my Dyson for just 10 days and I am so impressed by its amazing ability to remove dog hair I didn't even know was embedded in my carpet! The dirt and hair it has taken out simply amazes me. I strongly recommend this vacuum for anyone who owns a dog.

I bought the Dyson V10 a month ago as a lightweight supplement to my larger cannister vac. I have a dog that loses a lot of hair. This vac does a very good job in picking up the dog hair. I wish the cannister were a bit bigger though - it fills up in a few minutes. When I do a thorough vacuum to the entire house, I use my other vac. This one is a great option when I just want to clean up a couple of rooms really quickly. And the lightweight is really nice compared to the other heavier vac I have. Satisfied so far with the performance.

I use this vacuum on my hardwood floors and shag carpet and it is impressive. I vacuumed my small bedroom after one week of having my dog in my room and it filled up the entire canister. I am so impressed with this vacuum! Worth every penny. A little heavier than the V6 animal but it makes up for that in suction power.

I recently bought the V10 Animal and I am very impressed with this machine! It works really well on my bare floors and switches to carpet with ease. I have two cats and the amount of hair they produce and lose is crazy. The Animal picks it all up so well. I would totally recommend this machine to anyone.

I bought this vacuum because we have a dog that sheds more than any dog I've ever seen. The V10 "Animal" lives up to its name. I do a quick 10-minute cleanup each morning and the dog hair is completely under control. He still sheds a lot, but this vacuum is easy to use and very efficient! I can usually use it for three days before needing to recharge it. I love it! Its about a hundred times better than our old vacuum.

Pros: Really like. Would buy again in a heartbeat. So easy to use. Really light weight. Easy to move and turn. Picks up all cat dander. Excellent quality materials. We own several Dyson products and will buy for the quality again. Cons: When emptying the bin, dust floats back toward me. Battery life is only 30 minutes (using the power head full-time). Would likely improve with just the nozzle attachment.
