Machine does everything and more. Great suction, especially with the 3 settings, easy to empty and love the accessories. Especially the two motorized heads, one for carpet and one for bare floors. Word of caution though, on high setting, if the battery is used up fully, the battery will be quite warm (even hot). In my experience with power tools, the battery should be allowed to cool to room temperature before being put on the charger as the charging process will generate additional heat and heat is not good for lithium batteries.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We purchased our first Dyson cordless vacuum about a month ago and this thing beats anything, including our corded vacuum. Our dog is a shedding machine and the V10 picks all of it up. A bit pricey, but worth the money thus far. The only downside that I can mention is the lack of a head light for the main floor attachment, especially for those dark corners. Despite this "fault", I would highly recommend the V10.

I moved from a V6 to the V10, and enjoy the longer battery life and the ease of emptying the large bin. The cleaner head has two little wheels at the front, and a vinyl or silicone strip at the back, I suppose to help it seal to the floor better. However, if you vacuum in a forward and back motion on bare floors, you notice that visible crumbs are being gathered and pushed along behind the cleaner head, not drawn into it on the backward motion. The strip at the back is always rubbing on the floor. So keep moving forward! Also, I wonder if that strip will wear out before the rest of the cleaner head, using it on ceramic with grout seams? Could grains of sand get caught under the strip and scratch the hardwood? Time will tell.

This is our second Dyson stick vacuum and we love it! Now we have one upstairs and one downstairs. Easier to empty bin now and great feature with having the one floor attachment. Does a great job on carpet and/or floors, without having to change the floor attachment. Hope the floor attachment lasts longer than our original one. (Since the unit is made of plastic, using it on rough tile floors can make the plastic come apart).

Lightweight, easy to manoeuvre, and powerful; this vacuum works very well on both laminate and carpet. One of my favourite features is the easy-empty dust basket. The container opens and empties directly into the trash can with the push of a button. No mess or fussing with bags. I'm very pleased with this purchase and wouldn't hesitate to recommend or buy again.

I am 70 years old. It goes with a blink of an eye that this is by far the worst purchase I have ever made in my life. There is not a single time I have used this "vacuum" that I have not been sorry that I purchase the thing. Buy one and you will know what I am talking about.

It's good, but I did pay extra for the Animal version as I have two dogs. My brother bought the regular version and we compared. They basically work the same. The vacuum end is advertised as tangle free, but it definitely still tangles. It is convenient to pull apart to clean, but not what's advertised. So....I think I just spent more money

I've had two issues, including one off-warranty, and I will say Dyson stands behind this vacuum. They respond right away and I've never been more satisfied with the level of service Dyson provides. It is a good product. In hindsight I wish I had a larger dustbin now that I have a Yellow Labrador ;-). Care is required not to empty the bin "too hard" so as not to break off a small, plastic retaining pin.

We got our V10 a couple of weeks ago and have been using it for a couple of times. Two fundamental issues: - The vacuum seems to be stuck in a suction mode which I think is the Boost suction mode. This is because the vacuum is very loud and I didn't detect any audible difference when switching between the suction modes. Another reason leads to the second critical issue - When running in stick mode using the soft roller cleaner head and suction mode 1, it would only last for ~ 10 - 12 minutes. This is a far cry from the advertised 35 minute run time.

I bought the Pet version because I have two cats who seem to shed a whole cat each week. On my first go-around the main floor I filled the dirt bin, so my impressions were favourable. Since then I've been on a learning curve, and I think it's important to watch the additional materials Dyson sends out to acquaint a new owner with their vacuum. I haven't done that yet. What you might want to know is if you are currently using a Slim, the Animal seems a LOT heavier. Not a problem doing floors, but noticeable if you're trying to dust, etc. I'm also not yet finding it significantly better than my Slim, except, of course for the dirt bin which holds more and is WAY easier to empty! The Animal is also a bit trickier to get under things with, as the canister is so big. And it won't stand on its handle if you put it down. I like the air filtering of this one, considering the fine dust and animal dander it is picking up. I use this vacuum every day, and I'm sure I will get used to it.Still need to figure out which suction level is good for what. Almost a good idea to have both a larger vacuum for the bigger jobs and a Slim for whipping around, dusting, and picking up bugs. I now have both.
