Not that hard to assemble
We bought this on sale in the store and just finished putting it together. We had read reviews that said it was very difficult to assemble and were dreading it, but it was actually pretty simple. It took us about five hours (we're slow). Our suggestions: 1. While one person could put it together, it is definitely easier with two. 2. The allen wrenches/hex keys are included but you also need an adjustable wrench. Better yet, a socket wrench with a 5/8" socket and one smaller (sorry, I can't remember the size). 3. There are no written directions but the diagrams are very good; study them closely, take your time, and do things in the order they tell you to. Pay attention to the drawing of the wrench and hex key on each page -- if there is a diagonal line through it it means don't fully tighten the bolt yet. Otherwise, you can. 4. All the fasteners came separated and labeled/numbered, attached to three sheets of cardboard. You need scissors or a utility knife to cut the plastic holding them in place. Each step of assembly shows you what fasteners you will need for that step. At each step I put only the necessary fasteners in a bowl, leaving the rest attached to the card. ***For some weird reason one bolt, two washers and a nut were loose in the bottom of the box; I think they fell out of one of the bags. I set them aside and ultimately they were used towards the end of assembly on the end of the lower cable. Check your box and all the bags. 5. The only tricky part was installing the cables and some of the pulley wheels. Look ahead a page or two and also look at the pictures on the box and it will make sense. Make sure the cables are on the wheels. That's it. I just tried it out and so far it seems great; hopefully, it will hold up. I'm female, 5'4" and it looks like I will be able to use everything. I had wanted a home gym for a long time but space was an issue; this one doesn't take up a lot of space. I'll re-review it if something goes wrong but for now, I'm happy with my purchase.
Great Home Gym Unit
I had been keeping an eye on a couple of the Marcy Home Gym systems on the Sam's Club website. The one that I originally wanted sold out and was no longer available. When I noticed the price on this unit went down by 200 I said okay time to buy it. The freight company contacted me about delivery and each of the boxes were in good shape. I all by my lonesome started to unpack everything making note of each item on the enclosed documentation. Everything was accounted for and I started assembly, I took my time off and on for maybe three days. Everything on this unit works as it should and I am very happy with this product.
Not a review on machine… shipping is terrible
I wish I could actually write a review regarding the product, but I can’t seem to get the full product in my hands. Between Sam’s Club, the third-party vendor, and the shipping company, my shipment arrived eight days late after I had taken a day off of work to receive it. Then the day that they were supposed to drop it off. It was in a timeframe between 2 o’clock and 6 o’clock and it showed up at 10:15 in the morning, to which I was not home. They dropped it at the end of my driveway. Went out to put it together today and see that there’s supposed to be three boxes. Called Sam’s Club and they did some checking and are going to send me an entire new system … We’ll see if I get all three boxes next time, but again I have to figure out how I’m going to be around when they drop it off and then it’s going to be another day when they come and pick up the old one for it to be returned… I’ve about had it! I just want box number to that was missing.
Hello, we apologize for the shipping issues you have encountered. If possible, can you send a picture of what you received? We would like to document this case and provide any help we can. Please send the information and picture to support@marcypro.com with attention to Christian.

Thank you.
Great Gym Great Price
I am very happy with this gym. I had no issues with delivery. Boxes arrived when expected and in good condition. It took me 9 hours over three days to put together by myself (58 yr female). No missing parts. It’s all illustration for install but if you follow the pictures carefully, take your time, you can figure it out ok. The gym itself has a lot of different exercises and I really enjoy using it. I would recommend it to anyone looking for an inexpensive (got on sale so this was an added bonus), good quality in home gym.
Great Value and Diverse Exercises
The package/carton arrived undamaged, intact, and everything was in 1 carton/box. It's no longer multiple boxes like the Marcy instruction video shows. Maybe if you pick-up in store it's multiple boxes, but I ordered on-line and shockingly it was all in one box and all intact and arrived on time. Assembly was tedious but the instructions were clear, and Marcy/Impex have a YouTube video which you can follow along. My fitness level is intermediate and I'm 6ft tall and the machine offers just enough range of motion for my size. The weight plates are included, and you just select the amount of weight by changing the "pin" on the plates. So far it offers enough resistance for me. For example; weight plate setting "14" offers 200lbs of resistance for the front presses. The movements are smooth and while the machine has a slight wobble, it's definitely sturdy enough for home use. Besides, the footprint of the machine is fairly compact. For home use everything seems like it will last a while, so no complaints there. The only thing keeping it from 5 stars is the limited range of motion on a few exercises, like standing cable bicep curls. Also, I would've liked it more if this machine included the preacher curl pad like some of the similar models do. However, I purchased this model knowing that and wanted the center pulley which I find useful for some back exercises like face pulls. Overall for what I paid, I feel like this unit is a great value and was extra happy that box arrived undamaged in 1 piece. Unfortunately, the website won't allow me to upload a photo...But I think it looks cool down in basement where I have this machine and some other free weights to compliment it.
I'm happy with my purchase!
Instructions are very good, and the parts are marked nicely. I just put the Model Number MWM-4965SC together by myself, I'm a 63 yr. old female with bad knees. It took me about 3 days, working about 4 hours per day. Day 3 was spent tightening all the bolts. For the life of me, I could not find where part no. 39, Lock Pin goes. I didn't see it in the instructions, nor in the exploded diagram, or any pages in between. I do like the system. I don't think it's for short people like some have stated, but you may not be able to pull back as far the arms pull when standing up facing the unit. You just have to shorten your pull a little, not worth not getting the machine over. The system is sturdy, I should know, I put it together, LOL. I'm glad I bought it. I like that it has an abdominal crunch. I bought it for my knees to build up muscle there, so I don't have to have an operation on the Meniscus and its root, per my doctor's blessing.
Still waiting on shipment
I am unable to rate the actual unit as it hasn't even been delivered to me after having placed the order back on Nov 6th. Apparently the freight company that Sam's Club decided to use is on backlog and still shipping for October. I contacted Sam's Club last week and at the time the gym unit hadn't even been picked up my Pilot. I would have expected that they would have selected a more reliable freight company if customer satisfaction really mattered to them. Just contacted Pilot this morning and due to the backlog, I wouldn't expect my delivery until mid December. Disappointed to say the least.
Just what I needed!
I bought this back in the first week of Jan. I'm 74 and it took me about 4 hours to assemble by myself. I am a caregiver for my wife and need to stay in as good of shape as I can. I wanted a stack machine being much safer to use than free weights when working out alone. The only issue I had was the pin for the weight stack. Very difficult to insert. I ordered a 5/16" diameter pin online and it works much better. I think this unit is a great value and I paid $50 more than the current price, but I don't care. I want it, I need it and I love it. Thanks, Sam's, for offering such a great product.
Perfect for home gym
So far it's pretty dope! Strong, sturdy, and pretty simple to put together if you organize your parts beforehand. Took a little while but it's worth it! I don't know what part %2339 goes to, but it is what it is. Very functional, and the various exercises make it easy for you to get a solid workout in! This app isn't allowing me to upload photos, so….you'll just have to take my word on it!
Waiting AND Waiting AND Waiting
Ordered on November 3... and 25 days later I'm still waiting on delivery or even an ETA. I have been in contact with Sam's Club at least three different times, contacted the shipping company, and I'm still no closer to understanding when this product will arrive. Initial information from Sam's Club customer service suggested that I stay in contact with the shipper to find out what was going on. Ummm, no. Not my responsibility. Sam's Club rep indicated that the delay was due to the shipper. Contacted the shipping company just for the heck of it, and they stated that the delay was due to the vendor aka Sam's Club. So which is it? I've enlisted the help of at least three different Sam's Club employees via their chat. To say that I am not thrilled with this experience would be an understatement! I will say that the shipping company shows that the product has been waiting in an adjacent town since yesterday. However, Sam's Club tracking shows that the item checked in near me, then back to California. I'm now curious whether the product is actually being shipped back and forth between states. This does not say much (or it says EVERYTHING) for Maersk and their running of Pilot. God help them if it arrives damaged.
