Works great

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This does a great job at making my grass grow fast and strong and keeping the weeds at bay. I notice way less weeds on my lawn than my neighbors, it's very evident right at the borders of the property. Easy and quick to apply with my scotts spreader.

Did not work at all

I bought the product one after reading the reviews (positive) on this website and did follow all the instructions by some of the seasoned guys like apply on damp grass, temperature should not be more than 85 F, don't water for 48 hrs etc. Unfortunately after following all the instructions, and do exactly as mentioned on the bag, this product did not work at all on weeds but have burned down my grass badly. I am watering the lawn now 2 times a day for last 2 weeks to recover from this burn but no success till now. I recommend to use this to a part of your lawn before applying to entire area.

Am seeing results in 1 day/on a never before treated lawn

I am dealing with 2 acres of grass that is weed infested. This lawn was never before treated or cared for other than mowing. Previous owner had attitude of if it's green it's good. Followed directions of apply to wet lawn (rain showers) with the spreader set on 4.5 for heavier application. In less than 24 hours I am seeing results, weed leaves are curling in and are going brown. Other leaves are getting spots and are wilting. Good stuff if you ask me. New grass is not being harmed, it is 1 month old and growing quickly.

Best Lawn in the neighborhood! Weed free, thick and lush!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We have used Scott's products since we bought our first home in 1984, we have a lush, green and so thick lawn, completely weed free, friends and family who come to visit and walk in the yard can't believe how thick and gorgeous it is, we don't water as much as others with thinner lawns, we have even had people drive by and see us outside who will stop and ask how in the world do you get your lawn looking so nice....we always smile and have one word to say "Scott's" we have been loyal to Scott's for 32 years and will be for the remainder of our home owning years.

Great results over time

We needed to restore our total lawn of two acres. The lawn was covered with weeds and weak grasses with bare spots all over. Over a steady regiment of three years, with just two applications a year, we now have a lush grass lawn. We pulled plugs once a year and seeded with Scott sun & shade seed. It takes some time and attention with patience. But if you stay steady and work with the proper mowing techniques, fertilize with Scott products and applying granulated lime to control the PH, the results will come.... Please note, here in Michigan, seems the best combination is Scott fertilizers and the granulated lime simply twice a year ( early spring and mid-fall )

Burned weed and grass

I used Scott’s weed and feed on my lawn as directed. Applied the next morning after a heavy rain storm, using my Scott’s spreader. OMG, this stuff not only burned the weeds but also burned my grass. See the photo, it left patches of brown spots where grass used to grow. I am not happy at all that it took out my grass!

Very Disappointed With the Results

I bought and applied the Scotts Weed and Feed (15000 sq ft) about a month back . I applied it based on the instructions listed on the package. I have been very disappointed with the results. I have weeds all over my lawn. How can I remove and recover from the weeds without killing the grass ? I am attaching 4 pictures and can provide more. Thanks

Scotts Turf Builder Weed & Feed

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Excellent, dependable, consistent product. I have used Scotts Turf Builder for several years and never been disappointed with the results. I used this particular fertilizer in the late Spring or early summer to give the turf an added boost and to control weeds through the upcoming summer months.

This is the best Turf Builder/Weeder I've ever used

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I've been using Scott's weed and feed Turf Builder for longer than I can remember. Every time I bought a home, four of them, Scott's came along and improved the existing lawn. One year a neighbor walked past the yard and asked if she could "walk on the grass barefoot" because it looked so lush. It's an outstanding product. Every one of Scott's products that I've used has been above expectations.

Poor at best

Decided to try Scott's weed and feed this year, and must state I'm very disappointed. I struggle to control clover and violets in my yard every year, so I tried Scott's for the first time. This product has had no effect on the the clover or violets, in fact they are worse this year than they ever have been. It's almost like it fed them. I will not buy this product again.

We're sorry to hear the Scotts Turf Builder Weed & Feed did not kill the wild violets and clover as expected. Clover is a common perennial weed found in lawns throughout the United States. The most common type of clover established in lawns is white clover. It is very tolerant of a wide range of soil types. White clover spreads by creeping with above ground stems or stolons. White Clover reproduces by seeds or stolons. The seeds of white clover are kidney shaped and very hard, which allow for extended dormancy. The seeds can survive for 20 years or more in the soil. The seed of the white clover can germinate at different times throughout the summer whenever cool, moist conditions exist. The other way this weed can spread is through stolons, which grow at a rate of 18 cm. per year. The flowers of white clover will die off and the foliage will decompose. The stolons will remain until the following spring when they produce new shoots. The best way to manage clover is with regular feeding and proper mowing http://tinyurl.com/zmx8993. This will encourage a dense turf and make it difficult for clover and wild violets to become established. We want you to be confident in our products.
