Customer reviews for Scotts Turf Builder Weed & Feed, 45.26 lbs. forgood product
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] scotts, is the only product i use. my lawn is the most beautiful one in the whole town. nobody really takes care of there lawn. i use to do landscaping, for many years, and i know what a very nice lawn looks like, and i try to do my best on that project. i also love flowers, and when spring comes around, you can find me outside doing all types of landscaping. you should make your yard as pretty as you can get it.. i get a lot of people telling me how everything looks.. that makes me very happy
Great lawn fertilizer.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have been using Scotts Products on my lawn for a few years and have always like the end results. I put down this bag of Scotts Turf Builder on a Thursday before a rain and 5 days later my lawn is looking greener. This was very easy to apply, and the instructions were easy to follow. I cannot say how well it has done at eliminating weeds as it has only been a few days. I am looking forward to the end results.
Dandelions Only
I have used enough to treat at least 50,000 sq ft of lawn ( yet I only have about 10,000 sf of grass) and the only thing I dont have is dandelions ( after digging some manually). I have lots of wild violets, chickweed, clover, etc. I am not happy with the results. seems it only is fertilizer not much weed killer

Lawn is fed and weeds are dead! What more can you ask for!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I find Scotts Turf Builder Weed & Feed 3 to be a very affective product. It does a great job of killing off dandelions and other weeds while providing the proper amount of fertilizer to maintain my lawn in a nice green healthy manner. The price I have found locally, is as good or better than other brands, making the product a good value for the price.
somewat disappointed
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] used on lawn to green up in the fall and to get rid of clover, plantin ,and chickweed.wet lawn first with a weak soap and water mix one area at a time then applied product. The broaderleaf weeds weakend but clover still their. Then after this used liquid killer in a back pack sprayer. Some more thining of weeds but still to manny. Greening efect nopticable but not specutlar. My PH is near 7 soil type clayish packs with hard squeez. Veriable sun to shade.but not dense shade. PS rotary spreader great Easy to use and clean.
We're sorry to hear about your disappointment. Two out of the three weeds you've mentioned are hard to control. Clover is a common perennial weed found in lawns throughout the United States. The most common type of clover established in lawns is white clover. It is very tolerant of a wide range of soil types. White clover spreads by creeping with above ground stems or stolons. White Clover reproduces by seeds or stolons. The seeds of white clover are kidney shaped and very hard, which allow for extended dormancy. The seeds can survive for 20 years or more in the soil. The seed of the white clover can germinate at different times throughout the summer whenever cool, moist conditions exist. The other way this weed can spread is through stolons, which grow at a rate of 18 cm. per year. The flowers of white clover will die off and the foliage will decompose. The stolons will remain until the following spring when they produce new shoots. The best way to manage clover is with regular feeding and proper mowing http://tinyurl.com/zmx8993. This will encourage a dense turf and make it difficult for clover to become established. Chickweed is a low-spreading winter annual or perennial weed with a weak, shallow root system. This weed sprouts in the fall, making fall the best time to control it. The prostrate (flat) stems often root at the nodes. Its spreading growth covers adjacent turf and seriously impedes turf growth. Chickweed often forms extensive, dense patches. Chickweed thrives in cool, moist areas. Growing conditions can be made less favorable by lightening the soil or otherwise improving drainage, especially in shady areas. Heavy, constant shade should be lightened as well where possible. Shaded areas should be planted with turfgrass species which do well in the shade and which will provide maximum competition to weed species which invade shady areas. Aeration of the soil will also help in your weed battle. http://tinyurl.com/nekvycs We hope you've found this information helpful. We want you to be confident in our products. Weed Free and Lush Green Lawn
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I enjoy working on my yard and diligently care for it to have a weed free lawn. Using this Scotts Turf Builder Weed & Feed does the job perfectly! You will see reviews giving it 1, 2, 3, stars and I feel those stars are false due to them not reading and following the directions precisely. The one that says it burned all my grass, did you read if it was for your type of grass. To those who state it left long stripes on their grass, well that's a drop spreader issue and not this product. To those who say it just did not work, did you actually follow the directions? The lawn need to be slightly wet so it can stick to the weeds. Don't spread it if it's going to rain the next couple of days as it will wash off the weeds. I actually keep an eye on the weather for this. It rained one day and the next morning since the lawn is still wet, I Scotts Turf Builder Weed & Feed into my drop spreader set to the directions on the bag and spread it on going back and forth and overlapping slightly so there are no stripes. I left for two days, no watering or rain in the forecast. The third day it rained and so the lawn got the watering it needed and my lawn is weed free and fed to make it a nice lush green lawn. Always happy and satisfied with the results.
Easiest way to stop the weeds
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I've used this product for many years and it can't be beat for controlling weeds. The cheaper products just don't work very well or need double the application rate. Some weeds still need extra attention as I have not found anything to control low lying chickweed perfectly.
Worked Great!
I purchased Weed n Feed a few months ago. I applied as per the instructions with a "drop" spreader. Within 1 week most weeds were gone and the grass was greener and thicker then ever! I still need to apply again to clear all the weeds from my lawn but will continue with this product! There are some weeds like creeping charlie that i had to purchase special herbacide but i never took care of my lawn and expected this. I strongly reccommend Weed n Feed!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I can say without any hesitation or mental reservation whatsoever that Scotts Products are Second-To-None and this product is no exception--it's outstanding and my yard proves it! I'm a retired Army Officer and I'm very particular about most everything and my yard is one of those things. Scotts Products have served me very well for over 40 years and they always stand behind their products too--outstanding company. I highly recommend using Scotts Products and you will too!
This product killed 80% of my lawn. Don't use on sod/fescue grass.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This product does kill a number of weeds, but it will also kill the grass you want to keep. I had used it for years with good results, but I had a fairly newly seeded lawn the last time I used it. Now I have to start over because it killed the entire lawn where I reseeded. Lesson learned. Wait till your lawn is more established.
We're sorry to hear about the experience you've had with this product and certainly understand how frustrating this may have been. In general, it is recommended to wait until your new grass has been mowed at least 4 times before using a weed control product. (Unless the product is designed to be used when seeding). Always refer to the label for specific information related to seeding before using any weed control product. We want you to be confident in our products.
