I've owned several Norelco shavers over the years and been pleased with all of them. The 5200 is easy to handle, smooth, and I get quality shave every time. The trimmer works well, though I still prefer one that is built in the unit as it makes the job quicker. I bought the shaver from a quality store and believe it was a very good value for the money. I'd recommend the Norelco 5200 to anyone.

I've had nothing but Norelcos my entire adult life and this one's really mediocre at best. It's also the first time I've ever had a poor opinion of a Norelco shaver. I guess I should have known better to find a model for such a low price that even had a set of extra blades. The design of these blades is poor and they simply DO NOT shave as closely and comfortably as my Sensomatic 3D or past Norelcos. The detachable trimmer is better, though a bit less convenient. I also don't like the fact there's no battery charge indicator scale, until it gets red-orange when it's low. If you can't afford anything better, fine, but if you can, avoid this shaver!

I have used Norelco shavers as long as I can remember. Being born in The Netherlands and before immigrating first to Canada and to the US afterwards, I grew up with Philips radios. I believe in buying and using Philips products, which are made in my home country with great care and are of top quality. I bought the Norelco 5200 shaver, because it was cheaper than the replacement head for my Sensotouch(spelling?). The most remarkable thing of Norelco shavers is the super close shaves they give. I have never used soap and water and prevented cutting my face, thanks to Norelco. I am curious how and when you can improve your current line of Norelco shavers. Keep up the good work Philips.

I received the Norelco S5290 as a Christmas gift and like it very much, however it doesn't seem to shave any faster or better than my old Norelco razor. The feature I like the most is the washable head when I am finished shaving. Another feature I like is the long-life battery. I charged it immediately and have used about every other day and still have not had to charge it more. I will keep using it.

I like the ease of shaving, and, having used an electric razor most of my life, I rate this razor highly for its good shave. I miss quick access to a trimmer since extra time is neessary to attach the Smart Click Trimmer. Also, the on/off switch is positioned so that it can inadvertently get turned off during the shave.

I have been using electric shavers for many, many years, including multiple Norelco products. I have had the top of the line and lesser models, like this one.. it has proven better to replace them than buy new blades. This one is as good as any others, but as has always been my experience, not nearly as good as a razor.

I purchased the S5290 to replace a much older Norelco razor, at least five years older. This new one is nice since the heads rotate more to fit the curves of your face. It cuts closer than the old models which is a nice improvement. What I don't like about these new razors is that you can't use it while it is plugged in. The owner's manual says you can do a quick charge to get five minutes of shaving time. The other thing I don't like is the sideburn trimmer is now a separate attachment. If you want to use it, you have to manually remove the razor head and attach the trimmer.

I bought this as a replacement of for an older Philips Norelco shaver (now passed down to a son). I't a solid performer and appreciably lighter than the older unit. The shaving heads easily adapt to the contours of my face and the heads are easy to rinse clean post shave.

I bought this model since it was a less expensive. I ;found it quite average and wished I had bought a more expensive model, but I'll have to continue using this now until I need a new one. It doesn't seem much better than the old one I had , a 7140XL.

poor location of power switch. no holder for shaver. have to remove 1 cutting apparatus to use another takes 3 times longer to use than my 5 year old shaver--Norelco must go over my face 4-5 times for a smooth shave-never had to do this with any of the other 6 Norelcos that I have owned
