Software Bugs and Poorly Designed Software

I've tried for a year to make this work for me. I constantly have to reset the settings to get the scan to do what I want. There is no easy way to select a scan profile that you can switch to, If you go from receipts and back to a document or vice versa you have to manually go in and change each save and scan setting. I also recently tried to install it on a new PC, worked fine for 20 or so scans, but now after multiple installations of the software I have a brick on my desk that won't scan documents.

Not Sure Yet - Only had it a week

I did not give it 5 stars due to the following: 1.) I also own a Epson Perfection V750 Pro flat bed Scanner. 2.) Installation of the FF-680W and it's software rendered the V750 Scanner un-useable. Epson Scan no longer recognizes the V750 scanner. There are times that I will want to use both scanners. I have uninstalled both scanners; however, when the FF680W driver and software is installed the V750 is no longer listed as an available scanner. I also purchase the Epson Scan Receipts program, it was not included with the FF-680W. When I scan receipts, I want to save it in PDF format. It seems that the default is JPG and there is a not a option to change the default to PDF. This means that there is just another step to complete your work. The OCR makes a good start but needs more work. Mechanically, the scanner seems to work fine. I would tell a friend that the scanner seems well made, but research other brands just to be sure. I bought this scanner because I have been happy with the V750 flat bed scanner

Fast and efficient photo scanner!

I bought this scanner a few weeks ago and have already scanned thousands of photos! I am scanning at 600 dpi, tiff files and each photo takes about two seconds, and that includes scanning the back of the photos where I had written names and dates! I still have thousands more photos to scan, but this scanner makes the process easy and fast. No regrets purchasing this unit.

Awesome Photo Scanner

Purchased because my spouse wanted to send all our photos out to a commercial scanning vendor. I saved hundreds of dollars by buying this scanner and doing it at our leisure. Plus can now loan the scanner to friends and family so they can do the same. Easy setup and operation.

Fantastic scanner

I've had this for almost a year and I love it. It works fast and scans just about any size document. It's really helped me get organized and I'm now almost completely paperless. I went from 5 file boxes down to one and a half. I plan to start scanning my old photos over the winter. I've done some already and had no issues.

Fantasitic Scanner!

Wow, what an amazing scanner! I do lots of scanning for my job, including receipts, photos, and documents and this scanner handles them all with ease. I have tried a number of scanners in the past, both manual load and auto document feed and the FF-680W is so much nicer to use than all of them it really makes my job easier. Scanning photos is certainly where it shines, flying through stacks of them in seconds and even at higher resolution it still takes only seconds to get through them. Some of the other ADF scanners I have used could not handle the small two- and half-inch photos, but this scanner had no issues, it even scans front and back of the photo at the same time so you don’t lose the notes on the back. I think I am most impressed by how well this scanner handles receipts. Clearly full-page ones are no issue, but the small, folded up thermal ones that come from some many stores are usually a recipe for disaster with ADF scanners, but the 680W flew through my stacks of them with no jams and the software even recognized it was scanning receipts which was really cool. Overall this scanner is really well thought out, it is compact, wireless, passes the documents/photos/etc. through with very little bend to the document which I think helps this perform so well. Image quality is very good, scan speed is ridiculously fast, and the Epson software has worked great. It took less than 10 minutes from opening the box to my first scan. They even thought to provide a quite long power cord which is great since this is a wireless scanner so you can place it easily where you want. I would highly recommend this scanner to anyone that has lots of photos to scan or needs a versatile scanner for documents and expense tracking as well. Awesome Scanner

I just got my Epson FastFoto Scanner yesterday & I couldn't wait to use it. The install was super easy. I used it for the first time today and it is awesome! Super fast and easy to organize your photos onto your computer. I can't wait to continue with my big project of scanning my thousands of pictures i have accumulated over the last 50 years for the future enjoyment of my family to be able to view all these photographs digitally. I love it! I would recommend it to anyone and I've only used it for one day! I'm a happy customer.

Amazing Quality of Work

This product comes neatly packaged. I was surprised at how light it was for such a powerful machine. Instructions on removal of the product was found on the inside flaps. It comes with all of the necessary cords, power source, and hardware, so no need to look for extra components. The stylish black finish is very modern and sleek. There are tape binding spots to keep the product from being damaged in shipping and styrofoam holding it in place. As far as setup goes, I had no issues with following the instructions. The fact that this product works wirelessly is definitely a plus. I had no problem synchronizing it. I tested the photo restore feature with some old album photos my mother had and I was amazed at the difference. My mother now wants all of her photos restored. The time it took for just one photo , took little to no time at all. I have to save documents as well for small business work so I found that rather easy as well to upload and scan to my computer once I had all of the scan smart software installed. It comes with it so no worries. After giving this item some trial and error, I would give it a 9/10 rating so far on quality of work. It's good enough for professional use. The Epson was very easy to setup and connect the my Wi-Fi. The software is simple to understand and start scanning immediately! This scanner can scan both sides a a page at the same time which makes scanning super fast. And scans are saved in PDF format It took 11 seconds to scan 8 pages - both sides with pictures, It took 25 seconds to scan 8 pictures at 200dpi Overall I really like this scanner *This is a review for the Epson Fastfoto FF680W Wireless High-speed Photo and Document Scanner system that I received free of charge to do a beta test and review*

Connection via wifi a pain

I have not really used the scanner yet, but the installation via wifi is a royal pain. I use Netgear Orbi and the sync button did NOT work for WPS. After 30 minutes of messing around I just opted for USB connection. It would not be soo difficult to simply let the user put a PW in. I can’t stand WPS!
