We had an older Shark Navigator model for nearly 10 years, so that's what I had to compare this to. Not impressed. Got it for a great price...seems like a lot of plastic with good suction. After reading reviews, I was under the impression that this thing is amazing for pet hair. I used it one time and it indeed pick up the dog hair. Some got wrapped around the front brush roll. That front brush roll then lost part of it's velour-type covering. That's just plain cheap. Cheap materials, good suction, but look at all those tools it comes with...most I will never need. I contacted Shark and their response was to replace that part. One more chance... I'm not impressed yet and I'm very close to taking this thing back to find a quality vacuum that simply does what it's suppose to.

I bought the shark thinking this is going to be awesome I looked at the reviews and was ready to make this purchase I get my vacuum open and I'm so excited the first I only have carpet in one of my rooms and a area rug in my living room the rest of my house is hardwood floor I've use my the vacuum maybe 30 times in two months can you please tell me why it's not suctioning anymore I cleaned it out it's still the section it's trash I will be returning it.

I didn't realize I couldn't obtain additional accessories for this model, so as convenient as the lift away feature is, it's rather useless. I went to the manufacture's site and cannot order any essential cleaning accessories and tools like brushes and a small under furniture head. If you don't need your vacuum to clean anything other that the floor, it's a great vacuum, quite powerful. I have to buy an additional vacuum to meet the rest of my vacuuming needs.

This is hands down the best vacuum I have ever owed. Great suction and easily transitions from carpet to hard floors. No kick back of debris on hard floors. Love that if you accidentally run over curtains, cords or even shoes this vacuum doesn't suck them up. Not saying that it won't suck up fabric that is just loosely laying around, but it doesn't wind and tangle up my hanging curtains. They are easily release without damage when vacuum is pulled away while still running. I've owned this for 6 months and still love it. I would definitely buy it again!!

It picks up dust and dirt very well, but opening the dust bin indoors is an exercise in futility. Take it outside to empty. This is our first bagless, and will be the last. The bags may be inconvenient to purchase, but at least once you vacuum something up, it stays vacuumed.

My 10 year old Bissell is on its last legs, and yet, it is still able to suck up dust leftover from this Shark. The filters are clean, the access points are clear, the suction slide is all the way closed, and I vacuumed very slowly across medium pile carpet, and it still leaves some behind for the Bissell to take care of at a faster pace than the Shark. The Shark is light and easy to transport upstairs where there is only hardwood (it works fine for that too, still needs a microfiber cloth to finish the missed areas), and the detaching feature is nice for cleaning the stairs. Finals thoughts: it's okay.

It was great at first, a few months later it won't stop over heating. I've dismantled it, watch YouTube videos on how to clean it, replaced filters and the suction is terrible. It over heats every 5 mins. I don't have small kids or animals so I know nothing is jammed. I'm really disappointed in shark. I've wanted one of their vacuums for years and it's been terrible.

I bought this vacuum after much research and was very disappointed in its performance. Both the brush roll and the nozzle elbow (at base) would quickly clog. The suction was horrible. On floors it would just push dirt around and on carpets you could see dust blowing up. I spent more time cleaning the vacuum then cleaning the floors. It is also very, very heavy -- which I thought would mean a strong motor for better suction. No such luck. I have had success with Shark vacuums in the past so I decided to spend the extra money and deal with the weight. I really wanted this machine to work! Thank goodness Sam's Club was willing to give me a refund.
